I've been trying to update my profile, but I keep getting the following error:

We are Sorry but this section of our site is for Subscribed Users Only.

What am I supposed to subscribe to? I tried to subscribe to the email newsletter, but I got the same error. Am I doing something wrong?

I dunno what might be happening there.

I suppose it might be a transient problem, as WP seems to be rather busy today.

If it persists, you may need to contact MrMark (or Alex) to sort it out.

It's been doing it to me for a few days.

I probably should have mentioned that I'm using Google Chrome and Vista 64.

I'm getting the same problem.
I want to update my profile and it won't let me change it.
It also says that I'm not subscribed to the newsletter, but I am.

don't worry about the newsletter, that used to bother me no end. But there is not newsletter, so it really doesn't matter. PM me and tell me what you want to update and I will see if I can do it on this side.

Chrome seemed to be a bit buggy on WP last I used it. Try it out in Firefox.

Worth pointing out a workaround for this is to type in your password twice in the password change field, as it appears to be using this for validation when submitting changes - changes can then be made to everything in your profile.

I now feel rather stupid.

Thank you, DairyPhoenix, for reminding me what the real problem is.

My browser (SeaMonkey) also does exactly this... it auto-fills in one copy of the password, but not both.

The easier solution is to blank out the one it has helpfully filled in!

The page only wants two copies of the password if you are intending to change it, so you don't accidentally change it to something you didn't intend.

Thanks again, DairyPhoenix.
