I hate it when that happens, everytime I have a tune in my head I have to tap the tune on the table, or hum it.

btw I'm not being funny but could you sort out that spelling, those typos are terrible

I once had the song "Ex Girlfriend" by No Doubt stuck in my head an entire night so bad that I couldn't sleep. This was probably 10 years ago and to this day I can't stand No Doubt or Gwen Stefani because of it.

Lot of people get songs stuck in their head. I get Benny & Joon songs stuck in my head and other music I sometimes hear on the radio.

Right on Gina-ghettoprincess.

If you got down to Willow farm
to look for hidden doors, tiny floors, more applause
We've been here all the time
,,,

their teeth in the soil, the soil, their teeth in the soil, the soil the soil the soil!
There's good and bad, and Mom and Dad, and everyone's happy to be here

Fortunately, I can't understand half the lyrics...;)

What I do (this probably works better for musicians) is to listen to the chord progression, then substitute another song with the same one. Works the same for beats, sometimes lyrics.

Everyone in the family either listens to hardcore rap or country (I guess I'm two old to hold diametrically opposed music forms in my head simultaneously...;)

So I get a lot of practice at it; modern Country's just rock and roll with bluegrass instruments and nostalgic subjects nowadays...;)

 You think you've got it bad... I've had "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" song stuck in my head for the last six years. :(

Thankfully only over 1 year solid from ages about 17 / 18 -19. Drove me a little mad with it in my head 24/7, think it had to do with the exam stress.

Had it in my head a fair amount before then, and its finally starting to wane now. Would have been a bit more manageable having it stuck in my head 24/7 for a solid year had I known more than 6 lines from it (are there more than 6 lines?).

Yeah, I have this happen pretty much every day no matter what. Sometimes its the same song, sometimes its not. I seriously hate Green Grass and High Tides now. With a burning passion. Had it stuck in my head for like a month straight. I got sick of it before it even got stuck in my head.

In fact, to satisfy my craving for "Willow Farm" i went into Audacity copied the whole 2:38 of the section from of "Supper's Ready" and made it into a standalone MP3 track.

I've also seen the term "Repetitive Tune Syndrome":

Scroll about half-way down that page, where it also mentions "Restless Leg Syndrome" - I suppose you could combine the two :-)

The problem with getting songs stuck in the head is, that most of the songs that get stuck in my head I hate.

I get a song stuck in my head everyday. Lately it's been Regina Spektor, which is fine by me.

I have songs stuck in my head pretty much all the time, I can't get rid of it, but I found that I would rather have songs I actually like stuck in my head compared to other music, that's why I bought an mp3 player, now any music stuck in my head is something I don't mind being there, although whats really annoying is when I get scenes from tv shows stuck in my head and it keeps repeating over and over again.
