I read this article in the paper saying the English actor Hugh Laurie (you know the guy of house) could be the next George Clooney. Do you think he could be the next George Clooney or not? I did find this slightly hard to belive myself.

I am not particularly fond of either of them.

Maybe they just meant in popularity? Not attractiveness?

But yeah, I agree with Greyhound I don't like either of them. If I had to choose, I'd pick Hugh because I definately don't like Clooney. Seems pompous.

Nope, everyone has their own opinion of attractive. Many women happen to like both of those men.

Me personally, I don't find either of them attractive at all.

Why Mithara? Do you go for personality over looks?

I do, but even so I don't find those men physically attractive. I don't like 'old' or 'fat' men. (Ok well Pitts not that fat, but he is blonde)
I define 'old' as like.. over 25 (I'm immature) and 'fat' as .. average sized + (I like thin guys)
And I don't like blondes!!

If you would like an example of celebrities that I like - I used to like Tom Welling (he's pretty old now and has gotten bulkier, tho) and I think Milo Ventimiglia is pretty darn attractive (both of the previous listed people are/were attractive to me due to their necks, I like long muscular necks) and I used to have the hugest infatuation with Elijah Wood because he just seems like a very fun person!
But probably hotter than all of them IMO is an anime caracter. Google image search "Pharoah Atem"
(or Atemu) I love him, he is very thin, and a very nice guy but still is powerful and kicks ass. I love power and strength.

I have weird tastes.
The stereotypical 'attractive' guy doesn't do anything for me.

-edit- I also really liked the main character in the new Speed Racer movie. I don't like the actor too much tho, just the character in the movie.

I wonder about the extent to which the character being played is responsible for how people perceive 'attractiveness'. Hugh Laurie has been around for ages, and in my opinion, has played much more entertaining roles (the Prince in Blackadder is probably my favourite Laurie role), yet no one made much of a fuss about him before he started playing this House character.

Obviously playing a character that gets lots of 'air-play' will enhance the extent to which one is recognized, but I think that there is also an issue here of people transferring characteristics of the role being played onto their perception of the 'attractiveness' of the actor, despite the actor's personality and the character's personality being independent co-variables.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt cannot act. Brad Pitt and George Clooney are old now. I believe it was like 10 years ago when women found Brad Pitt and George Clooney attractive. Now they are just bums who make crappy movies

Dokken 10 years ago people were saying George Clooney was an ugly Greek because he had black hair. When his hair wen't gray he was then considered a sex symbol.

Mithara whats wrong with blondes? I myself have lightish brown/blondish hair and brown eyes its quite a nice hair colour if anything. Besides I thought all brunnete girls liked blonde haired men or is that just me being stereotypical?

Jamesy, there's nothing wrong with blondes. It really depends. But naturally blonde guys tend to have face shapes that I don't find attractive.

Really, no one should use me as a way to measure anything. I'm very atypical in my tastes.

They are getting older, but I believe that they are still considered attractive among the general female population. Thair fans have aged as well

Mithara I am not really blonde anyway more light-medium brown. I am male myself and I don't really find red head or blonde girls attractive, I prefer brunnetes or girls with black hair with dark or blue eyes. That said I do find girls with brown eyes and blonde hair attractive althought to bad its such a rare trait.

I was actually very blonde as a child but it got darker as I grew up. Since moving to CA, it has gotten lighter, though. You might call me a very dirty blonde now. Or else, a very light brunette. Kind of in between.

Same here Methera I was blonde as a child but hormones change your hair colour. Last year my hair was getting longer and going blonder when it was summber but I got my hair cut and it wen't back to brown lol.

The problem is I live in England and you don't get much sun shine over here either.

I was going to ask Mithera do you find red headed men attractive?
