Hi, I found this site about a month ago, but I have been so busy, I am just now getting around to writing.

I am interested in finding new "friends" that know about AS, who are willing to chat with me on the topic. I am not diagnosed, but I am seeking one. I also believe that my son is an AS too. I have been a single mom for many years and have never quite understood why things just didn't work out for me like they did for others. Now I know why. That is good, but I have no support system, so I am on my own and very confused, hopeless, and really worried. I could really use a friend to talk to.

I am a female, 39 and live in Iowa. It doesn't really matter who writes me...but if someone who is around my age and has similar experiences would write...I would be very greatful. Thank you, Kitcat

Hi, I probably can't relate too well to most of your life experiences, but there are a few mothers here to talk to.

Hi Kitcat,

I'm pretty new here to,
I'm 39 and have a 7 year old son,

I wish I'd found out I was AS when I was younger,
but now I know things are starting to make sense.

Your in the right place,
people here are very supportive, unjudgemental and fun.

Hi Kitcat:

I joined just a few days ago myself.

I haven't been formally diagnosed as having Asperger's, but it would explain a lot of my social maladjustments. For decades I thought, "How do people know how to talk to each other? How is it they just seem to know things and I don't?" It was like being out of phase with reality.

The folks here are really nice and I recommend GroovyDruid's articles as a starting place to learn about AS and techniques for you and your son to cope and even thrive with it.

You are most welcome!
Sincerely,
Wandrew
