Are there any films out there that you find particularly patronizing, stereotypical, or offensive towards the AS community?

Welcome to Wrong Planet!

Do a search (within Wrong Planet) for Mozart and the Whale. Many people were offended by it. I enjoyed it, but was disappointed that they didn't deal with more mild cases of Asperger's. I think those who made the film thought it would be more dramatic if they featured those who are on the more severe end of the spectrum. The characters were too much like Raymond Babbit in Rainman.

Don't know about offensive but Garage by Lenny Abrahamson is a good handling of it; never quite explicit that Josie (protagonist) may be autistic/have aspergers....worth a look
