Edward has no personality or charisma, but on the other hand he is book smart and gorgeous....Maybe that is why he appears so dreamy to some? For me, Edward is one of the most boring characters of the Twilight series. But then again, the books were not that well written and the author did not go in depth when it came to describing the psychology of her characters. It was quite superficial. When it comes to vampire - romance book series, Anne Rice's work was much better and her vampires more appealing and interesting to me.

Its because

a) He's younger so he appeals to ditzy 14 year olds.

The first twilight book was absolute s**t, good thing the second one sort of made up for it. Edward cullen doesn't appeal to me at all.. but would have when I was 14. I prefer Dr Carlisle, myself.

I don't get it , why all teen and young adult girls love so much Edward, the main character in Twilight movie?
Why the main hero of "Angel" series (and main character in Buffy the vampire slayer) never had the same effect on them?

Most girls I remember from high school liked the other one... "Spike" or something...played by James Marsters... I'm not sure exactly, didn't watch it, just had to hear about it all the time.

Angel is the nice guy (with a bad history but became really nice later)
Spike is the typical bad guy
