The Naples Daily news report that 10-year old autistic kid left in a police car because he kicked a teacher aid. He was charged with battery on a teacher but did not know the consequences of his action.

It needs to be explained to the kid why he is in trouble and what he did wrong. My mother always explained things to me when I was growing up about my actions and why I was being punished so I would learn.

Poor boy --- I have similar experiences of being reprimanded for things I don't really know why I did wrong... Sigh.

Why was he having these outbursts? That's what I want to know. Did someone say something to him to set him off? Was he overwhelmed or experiencing sensory overload?
