Tomatoes were originally called "love apples" and were considered poisonous by some. But since I have been eating tomatoes for most of my long life and suffered no consequences I must be immune or an alien.

I'm sure that even if tomatoes have some ill effects, I've generally heard that they are nutritious enough so that they probably outweigh that. Lots of good stuff in tomatoes. Supposed to be very good for...
