Who's getting a DSi?

I'm getting the black version come April 5th. Are any of you guys getting one too or do you just think it's a gimmick?

I don't see why anyone would want one... BUT it is Nintendo so it'll probably sell millions.

i'll get it if i can garantee ill be able to work roms and homebrew on it first

Had my DS Lite for 2 and half years so far.

Not planning on getting a DSi to be honest, well not at £150 anyway.

I never even got the lite, I still got my big chunky DS and that works just fine with me.

Maybe someday in the future when my DS fat is broken beyond all repair, but right now, I think I can live without a camera function

I'll stick with my DSLite.

I wouldn't mind getting a DSi, but I'm not sure if I'll be in a financial position to buy one come april; that's around the time I plan on moving out anywho...

I also still have a backlog of things to buy, namely a $30 controller interface for my MAME cabinet....

would anyone trade in their DS lite for it?

some game stores offer discounts on new consoles if u trade in old consoles and a few games.

I have one, I also have the normal one. Sometimes I think it was a waste of money getting the lite, when I already had the normal one. But at least now I can use the nintendo ds web browser, and that thing is awesome.


EDIT: Oh wait, DSi, just looked it up, never mind. What is so great about this one, thats better then the lite anyway.

i already pre ordered

it has a camera. a 3mp camera. and a larger screen.

but you lose all the homebrew/rom using features that the DS/DS lite has.

edit: oh, 0.3mp ... i feel cheated, and i don't even want one.

DSI Pictures

Overall size has been reduced -- DSi is 12% or 2.6 millimeters slimmer than the Lite.
Comes with an external 0.3 Megapixel camera (for 640 x 480 pixel pictures) and a VGA camera located on the hinge, directed towards the user. You'll be able to edit pictures using the touchscreen.

Full music playback functionality, including adjustable pitch and playback speed.

Both screens have been expanded to 3.25 inches.
SD memory card slot is included, and there'll be on-board memory also.

Will ship with an built-in Nintendo DS web browser.

DSi will allow users to download games from DSWare, a new service that operates with Wii Points -- or, as they are now known, Nintendo Points.
Logging onto DSWare for the first time will grant users 1,000 free Nintendo Points.
DSWare comes in four pricing categories: free (!), 200 Nintendo Points, 500 Nintendo Points, and 800 Nintendo Points.

No, I am not pre ordering, but I do wish to legally obtain one though the proper transaction of purchasing, even if it means I will have to wait for it. (Like how you have to wait for a Wii in big and small cities alike, they sell.)
And in the US, they seem to be coming out in Bright blue, and Black. I think I might keep my lite, for other functions.

Probably not. My DS Lite still works fine and the DSi doesn't have a slot for me to play my GBA games.
