I have come to the conclusion that people are just jealous of the US.

We invent most the stuff people like
We have a Kick Ass Military, especially our Navy
We have lots of toys
We have lots of wealth
We have a huge diversity of people
We have a higher standard of living then most other countries
We won the last two world wars
We are away from everything else with two huge oceans protecting us
We usually get our way
Everyone speaks our language, Even the British have to adapt to us
We always get our way
Even when we elect crappy leaders that are totally wrong, we still get our way
And most important of all, We have the NFL.

I think if I was another country, I would hate us too, and want live here too.

Proud to be an American!

It took a while but I'm on to you now. It's a damned shame the way you make fun of the US population where a huge percentage can't even find the USA on a world map and the politicians don't respond to the demands of the citizens because they are bought and paid for by the rich corporations and financial institutions and arms manufacturers that are robbing the country blind. The people are no stupider than people anywhere else but the education system is a shambles because nobody wants to pay the taxes to get bright teachers into the system and those that are in the system work their asses off to give the kids any kind of education. The big corporations have sent all the industry to China because the wages in the USA are too high and the people have all their money invested in highly overpriced housing It's important to keep the population uneducated because they can then be manipulated into electing crooks and idiots to congress and keep buying the cheap junk the Chinese produce and watch the crappiest TV shows humanity can devise. But of course there's always football and baseball and beer and frenchfries and hamburgers to keep the population happy - until the money and the credit runs out and there's no place to earn more. It's very nasty of you to make fun of these poor dumb uneducated idiots that are directly headed for total catastrophe.

:lmao: Sorry sorry. I got my undergrad degree at a primarily teaching oriented school. All the hard work in the world wouldn't make the ed majors anything other than intellectually sub par. Pay's a factor, sure, but I must admit I love how the elaborate certification processes discourages career changes, which pretty much mean that you ain't getting people to work in education unless they are so unintelligent that they couldn't have shot for anything higher.

You merely confirm what I said. Sure there are lots of unqualified teachers but there are also dedicated smart very hard working people in there that care about kids and are frustrated by low salaries and lack of supplies and killing working hours and dumb administration and these fine people should not be sneered at.

Frankly, I dispute the image of the underpayed teacher. I had a lot of dumb teachers in school who I clearly outclassed in intelligence, and that was deeply frustrating. Considering the amount of hours worked each year, the benefits, the job security, etc., depending on where in the country you are you may well be overcompensated given the skills.

Because you were not fortunate enough to encounter some very good ones you should not denegrate them all. There are undoubtedly some who sacrifice a great deal because they care about kids but it is a tough grind and teaching kids is not easy. I have encountered some excellent people and deeply appreciate them.

I think the US educational system has its idiots and its great teachers just like any other industry. I think it takes a special talent to work with kids and get them learn. I don't think a teacher has to be smart, they just have to be able to get kids to learn.

The problem with the US system is that rather than hiring more babysitters and caregivers to wipe the kids noses and attend to their creature comforts, and address all their emotional baggage from their broken homes and missing parent, they expect the teacher to do it all. And that is just ineffective usage of taxpayer money.

A teacher should have one aid for ever 10-20 students and have 50-100 students, so they can teach, not wipe noses. Then they can raise teachers salaries and get only the most qualified and talented people.

They have been trialling something similar to this at my partners school. It is chaos, among the many issues with this there is simply too much noise and as she says noise creates noise.

I presume you are joking. If you are not then there is little point debating this with you as you are obviously a one eyed cyclops that has never stepped foot outside of your town let alone set foot upon a foreign shore, but believe this; Australians do not feel the slightest jealousy for Americans, come and spend some time here and you will see why

Anybody in charge of kids has to do what is necessary and that's a lot. A guy working at McDonalds or Walmart doesn't have to be a genius but an astronaut, a plumber, an atomic scientist, a jewel thief, a film director, and a teacher have to be skilled with a wide range understanding to be successful. I doubt the current crop of US congressmen could do well at McDonalds.

Not really. I wouldn't want to live there.

China, Japan and Europe invent a lot, too. Quite a stretch of "most", really.

And you will be nuked to oblivion if you try to use it on something larger than a banana republic.

20% of the American populace have 80% of American wealth.

Who doesn't? I mean, even Sweden has a lot of diversity nowadays.

En-eff-what? I'll have to look that up in Wikipedia.
