Religion and Extraterrestrial Life
AFAIK, the bible says nothing about whether or not there is extraterrestrial life yet fundamentalists insist that there is none and that UFOs and Aliens are demonic agents from Hell . Why is this? It seems so absurd that these christian fundamentalists assume that anything that is not human or anthropomorphic is baaaaad...

There is nothing in fundamental Christianity that should argue against intelligent life elsewhere. Perhaps the other intelligent races (if they exist) are not Fallen so they don't need a savior. If God could make one intelligent race, then why not several more?
Personally I do not believe these (so-called) UFOs are alien spacecraft at all.

There could have been very well extra terrestrial visits in the bible, the authors will not define them as a UFO or a space ship because they would not know what they were. Instead they would use the language of appearance.
What if Da Vinci say a Boeing 747 fly across the sky how would he describe it?
Take a look at some of the prophetic visions of the old testament, or revelation, could any of that be interperated as an ET vessel?

Only to the extent that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by a nuclear device.

Here's what IS known though:
-An Earthquake brought down the walls of Jericho.
-The parting of the Red Sea was caused by a volcanically generated tsunami
-As far as Sodom and Gomorrah, there is some speculation that it was a powerful gas explosion triggered by hydrogen sulfide gas seepage from volcanic vents near the Dead Sea.

If I ask for proof of these claims, will you still say the burden of proof is on me?

Not at all.
Let me go dig up some links...
But back to the subject of the OPost. If there is a bible verse that states the the rest of the Cosmos is lifeless, Im curious to know where it is and what is says exactly. IF we assume here that the bible is the word of God, does this mean that what is written in the bible is ALL God has to say? Couldnt God have some secrets about the Universe which he would let us discover for ourselves someday? That is really what the point of this thread is.....

Although intelligence probably hasn't changed much since the time the Bible was written knowledge of the nature of the universe has changed radically. Those people in those times had no understanding of stars or planets or, to a huge extent, the nature of life and life in nature. To try to insert modern understandings into such a field of limited knowledge is like trying to stuff an elephant into a shoebox. Why bother to try?

Have you never read the amusing Erich von Daniken? Here's the Wiki on him:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniken
However, I prefer the catastrophism of Igor Velikovsky:

The more so because some of what he predicted about other planets (in 1950!) has turned out to be true.
Back to the OP: One thing about such fundamentalists as you describe, they believe that God made the Earth for human beings, who were made in God's image. That makes Earth the special place for God's most special creation. Any creatures not mentioned as being created in Genesis are therefore 'unholy'.
Those kind of follks are the same kind which opposed heliocentrism (I think that's what it's called) - where the sun is the center of the solar system, not the Earth. Those guys punished the great Galileo, and it took over 350 years for the Roman church for forgive him. Don't think today's fundamentalists are going to change anytime soon.
