So, did anyone else fall asleep before midnight on New Years' Eve? I think I went to bed by about 9:45. I couldn't stay up, and besides, there was no reason to. ((When I crash, I CRASH. Plus my extremities seemed to be swelling because I'd sat at the computer so long.))

((BTW, I'm not actually meaning to call anyone pathetic- just, perhaps, your New Years' Ever, form some perspectives. Not partying is totally cool and acceptable- I just felt kind of amsued at the fact that I turned 80 somewhere in my mid-teens and stopped having the ambition or even the ability to stay up all night to ring in the new year. Being alone helped, though. If people has been around I might have stayed up... 'till eleven or so...))

I watched the Ball in New York drop in three time zones.

Why would it be "pathetic"? What's not "pathetic" about making a load of fuss over some specific time, on a specific day that was fixed somewhat arbitrarily in the distant past, and has no real significance other than it being used as an excuse for antisocial behaviour?

I got "tipsy" at a frinds house, it was my first time drinking. I walked really crazy for at least 30 minutes. Yelling the count down was fun! :D

I was over at my mother's house. It wasn't such a rousing evening I must admit. She fell asleep by 8:30pm and I stayed up to watch the movies we'd rented. Then she woke up in time for midnight, we said Happy New Year, and she took me home.

The food wasn't bad though. Any excuse for a good meal, eh?

I didn't vote because there wasn't an option for "Over at family's house, but family fell asleep" :?

There's no option for " Went to bed at 9:30, but was awakened at again at midnight by the ***** thermonuclear fireworks the neighbors were using".
We've got a 4yr old who wakes up at 5am every morning. Sleep is a precious commodity around here. Can't waste it on watching some ball fall.

Because it's a social thing to do. I was 100% joking about that, and simply put pathewtic as I refer to myself as pathetic for not even bothing to stay up because I don't think it's a big deal either.

Woot! there is a "Does passing out count?" option. I don't pay attention to dates, or times. Last time i knew what year it was was 1998. I thought i was 12 for 3 years too.

We had a really small party at my house. My mum's sister and her family came over, and friends of our family came over. All the parents played Texas Hold 'Em for most of the night, and the other kids and I watched the Goonies. At 11:59 we turned the TV on to watch the ball in Times Square.

All together, it wasn't the best New Years parties I've ever been to, but it wasn't pathetic.

I went to a party with about 75 people and three kegs, and was up till about 3 or so. I really enjoyed myself, especially since NYE last year was spent sitting alone on the computer.
