I have horrible time management skills because my schoolwork triggers my anxiety. I wind up doing everything at the last minute, even studying (if I even study at all). I still manage to have a B average, but I guess I could do a lot better if I managed my time. It would also relieve anxiety to get things done earlier. I was wondering who's good at managing their time and who isn't?

During semesters that i go to school i do absolutely nothing but go to school. Go to school, go home, study, go to sleep. Rinse, repeat. I don't play any online games or time consuming games or anything, just school. I can't DO moderation.

I always did my schoolwork in the last minute too (that is a long time ago though). And I am definitely still not good at managing my time.

I second that. If someone asks him to do it, the worst he can say is no. Come to think of that, I guess I can ask him. :)

I'm hopeless. My time management is rubbish - I just have very little motivation. I leave everything to the last minute, though I've got better - I'll be up until 1am now doing coursework instead of 3.30am as I was a couple of years ago.

Also I have no concept of time, so I think 'oh I'll do it in 10 mins' - an hour or so later I'll look at the clock and realise ... Then it's 'oh, another five mins ... ' you can guess what happens then!

Yeah, maybe he could....

That's an excellent idea. Namiko contacted me and told me about you guys' discussion. I'll look into this. If I think I can make a helpful article with concrete suggestions, I'll write it up.

Feel free to post here or PM me things that you'd like to have answered. I'll see what I can do...

Time management? hmmm where did I put that clock, oh here it is. I can manage time seeee here is the clock.

Seriously, at work if we aren't busy, I save up my work so I can be busy. I agree with the post that stated "all or nothing" My time management is very bad.

Not to mention that I always forget things, or show up the day before (that IS very embarrasing)

I usually don't have time management issues. I like to make my own scheduals and have no problem with keeping myself to the deals I made with myself.
What helps for me is that I get a lot of work done at school, where the distraction is minimal compared to when I'm at home.

I normallly can manage my time, but really only when I'm enaged in and positive about my work. At the moment I'm doing shoddy pointless stuff that I know will not help me in the future (The first half of my advanced levels), so try to bide my time till I can find a gem of inspiration, then I work hard as I cantill I get bored.....

I'm starting the new "Dear Aspie" column very soon. I'm not doing the "Secrets of..." articles right now, so I probably can't do a whole article on time management, as dicussed above. But I would love it if someone on this thread would formuate a question and PM it to me. I'll address it in the column. :)

I'm horrible at managing my time - why do you think I'm studying at 3:30 in the morning?

Especially in times of extreme pressure such as this, the end of the semester, I'm rushing to get work done. It's horrible. Part of it is no matter how hard I try I can't get organized, and I'm absent a lot, so I miss a lot of work, which has really thrown me off.

I really don't know what to do at this point, I'm trying to get my friends help, and its working, maybe you should find, like, a buddy that would help you organize yourself, or, for example, get some sort of scheduler - personally, I can't handle handwriting things, so I went out, used some of my Christmas money, bought a keyboard for my calculator, and use that to schedule myself - I also use it to play Doom!

"I'm a nerd, maybe that gives me a bit of headway. :P"

Wait a minute:

Roybertito, you supposedly joined January 19th. That's today, by my calendar. (Could be yesterday with the screwy way the calendar works on this site.) But even if you have been a member for 2 days, you've racked up 79 posts. That's unbelieveable! I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being so prolific! I wonder if it's a record?

Anyway, glad you like the site! Welcome! :D
