anxiety is a new experience for me. In the past I have been oblivious to the things that make most people anxious. What I used to get was sensory overload.
Interesting... do you know what made it switch?
Likely awareness. Having had treatment for the adhd means that I can pay more attention to the things in my environment. So the things that used to get buried in a flood of overtimulation stand out to me more now. For example, I just bought a clock that ticks too loudly. It is grating on my nerves while I try to see if I can get used to it. The flourescent bulb in my hall is making a whining noise. The computer fan is whining too. And I am anxious about the next steps toward suing my employer. I can turn the other things off and I will be left with the anxiety. Before, sensory overload would have kicked in before I knew what it was that was overloading me.
