Is it such a faux pas if an aspie commits grievous autistic behavior while interacting with another aspie? In this case, I mean giving a pedantic monologue involving some of my "stereotyped and restricted patterns of interest."

(15:39:35) NeantHumain: You should be able to figure the meaning of that one out. Dentiste contains the morphemes dente and -iste. Dente is cognate with English tooth, and -iste is cognate with English -ish.

(15:39:54) Larval: damn
(15:39:56) Larval:
(15:39:59) NeantHumain: Moreover, dentiste is pretty much an English word as well as a French one.
(15:41:26) NeantHumain: Chez's etymology is the Latin word casa, meaning hut or shop, and is cognate with the Spanish word of the same spelling. However, it underwent a shift in its syntactic role and became a preposition in French instead of a noun.
(15:42:16) NeantHumain: Je is the nominal case of the first-person singular personal pronoun.
(15:43:55) NeantHumain: The phrase vais [infinitif] is an idiom for the near future tense, expressed semantically rather than syntactically; it is conjugated to match its subject in the present tense of the indicative mood in the active voice.
(15:45:10) NeantHumain: Le is merely the definite article declined in masculine, singular form in the non-prevowel form (the prevowel form being l'-).
(15:46:10) NeantHumain: Aller is an infinitive verb in the present tense and active voice. It is the verb that complements the near-future-tense idiom in this particular sentence.
(15:46:44) NeantHumain: You may recognize the verb aller from a song by Ricky Martin: "We will go! / Alle, alle, alle!"
(15:47:29) NeantHumain: I should score super-deluxo aspie points for that mind-numbingly detailed monologue!
(15:59:29) Larval: ...............

Lucky for most people, my ranting is internal. Otherwise, I'd be friendless.

I guess it's a faux pas only if the other person doesn't want to hear it, regardless of NAness or Auttieness. :? Not that that always stops me. ;)

Don't know whether it's a faux pas or not, but I do it when speaking to NTs anyway ...

It's their fault for not complaining!

...on second thoughts, maybe that's why I have so few friends. But they're good friends
