I got the idea for this thread from the foreign girls thread in the love and dating section.

Anyone here ever dated or are particularly attracted to foreign guys? If so, which country was he from or, Which kinds do you find appealing and why? How do you feel about the guys of your own country/culture?

Howdie... I'm not a woman. I just clicked the link to this thread from the update news feed on the home page.

I love foreign boys. I, myself, live in Happyland - population 1. I think Rob Moore (a British model) is adorably cute.

The only boy in my countery (Happyland) is... the only boy. He can't possibly hanky panky himself. or could he...

I'm old now but when I was young, I wanted to "only" date people from other countries just for the "difference" and excitement. I had no money to travel so I "travelled" that way! It was the next best thing. Here's my list of countries: Italy, Dominican Republic, Greece,
and Saudi Arabia. I had the most fun with the guy from the Dominican Republic because people starred less being that I am biracial (Black/White). We looked paired-off well. I had a BIG fetish for Japanese guys after watching a movie called "Tampopo" but couldn't snag one! I think it's all a great big aspie fetish...but they still "tried" to "get in"... if ya know what I mean. They're still men! Almost forgot, one from Vietnam too. He was REALLY handsome! He was biracial too but white/asian. If people married for looks alone, I would've jumped at the chance.
The one thing I didn't like about him was his constant comentary on where i looked black and where I didn't. I ran into him 23 years later and he remembered me! I had no clue as to who he was. After I got home and started making dinner for the family, I remembered him! I bawled my eyes out because this made me "really" feel the passage of time and the loss of youth. He really got bald and old looking. He probably thought the same about me too...fat and loud. This made me long for the past but the past I had with my husband before the kids were born not the past I had with dating. My husband is almost foreign. He was born here but his parents were from the Caribbean. He waited a whole two months before he started getting fresh. I gave in after six months because he was so lovable. It worked out well. Often, I ask him, "If I had given in to your crusty advances right away, would you have still married me?" His reply, "Nope. I would've figured you to be a slapper! '8O    8)

I loooove foreign guys, especially Polish, Norwiegen, Australian, Italian and Irish guys
*drool*

I LOVE the accents...I could listen to a norweigen guy talking for ever, the only problem is that I go daft, I get really giggly and end up crying with laughter

(btw, how do you spell 'Norweigen'?)

In terms of just physical attraction, definitely Japanese. I do think I like the fact that many young Japanese guys are quite androgynous and pretty/feminine-looking. Sometimes I wonder if the fact that I feel mentally somewhere between female and male makes me subconsciously drawn to men who reflect the same thing in their physical appearance.

That's an interesting concept. I personally prefer effeminate guys, but there aren't enough of them to go around my second choice is anyone that looks vaguely like the main character in The Last Samurai (I have never been good with actors), or Patrick Stewart. Patrick stewart just has this quality I can't describe that I find absolutely amazing, and his voice is amazing, his eyes are beautiful, the way he speaks and how he uses language, everything about him is amazing... He is just way too old for me... And I may be bi, but I don't know what my dream girl would be like, and I don't care to find out, as I don't intend on marrying one.

Just because you're with your dream girl, or the one you truly love (guy or girl), does not mean you have to instantly go out and marry them though. There are enough relationships that work well without getting married.

It's not that I'm particularly attracted to foreign guys, it's more that guys with interesting backgrounds have been interested in me.

But really randomly, although I'm white, British, and I have mostly had relationships with white, British guys, I've also had relationships with African-Asian guys. And there has been no connection or similarity whatever between them, it's been really random. One guy was born in Uganda, his parents were originally from pre-partition India, now Pakistan, and after his family escaped from Idi Amin's Uganda he was raised in Zambia, before moving to the UK to go to boarding school, and he studied accountancy. Another guy was born in Liberia, but his parents moved to the midlands in UK and had a chicken farm and he studied economics and government... and the next guy was born in Tanzania, but educated in the UK and went to medical school. One was muslim, one was sikh, and I'm not quite sure whether the other was sikh or hindu. Like I said, really random...
