A thread about the game that has become my special interest. Who else is an avid Scrabble player?

Among the service users of the autism centre in Edinburgh, Scrabble has become a craze. A big interest in Scrabble has been sparked off and people are playing it all the time.

I now have the chance to join a club and will probably be attracting a couple of other Aspies along with me. Many good Scrabble players are on the autism spectrum.

Let me know, too, if you find an online web host for Scrabble.
Maybe the Web can allow us to play against each other....

The ISC (Internet Scrabble Club) - you download their software and can play other users for free.

I recently joined the Internet Scrabble Club, though have only played one game on it so far. I have usually played on www.quadplex.com though you get a random opponent there.

this is a multiplayer online game with 10 tiles in the rack, i play there sometimes, it's a good time killer. there's a hidden 'expert' section if you want to try for high scores. read the 'guide' if you want to find it.

I wish I was better at Scrabble, but I suck at word scramble type stuff =/ I always end up only seeing tiny little words, and then the crossword is too tight to really play off of anything.

But then, I only recently found out that you can swap out your pieces for new ones if you want. Maybe that would help a little bit.

Best way with the least effort is to download a list of legal two letter scrabble words and memorize them and practice playing with them - the power comes when you can build your words along side of words already on the board - so you get credit for your word plus a bunch of two letter words. Next best thing to do (but harder) is to memorize some of the other word lists - legal three letter words, legal words that use a Q but no U, etc. Every word that uses Q's, Z's, J's, etc.
