i'm so excited, Adam Kreek of the gold medal winning canadian olympic 8+ is coming to the rowing club to give a talk.

Wow, great

You should use this as a opertunity to see how similar he is to you, that making it to the olympics is just as posible for you as it was for him. You stick with it and have enough motivation before you know it you will be rowing with guys like that or racing against them.

There was one race I did last season that I will never forget, it was one of those moments that I felt like I actually acomplished something. There was a bunch of fast pros in this race, it was very fast and hard, I was not feeling so great that day and was not able to stay up, so I fell off the back and found myself riding by myself, thinking why did I give up so easy, then another racer rode up beside me, who had fallen off a couple laps before me, so we just rode along, him talking to me, and me smiling and nodding my head. He was telling me all about just getting back from the olympics and his time there, and I thought to myself, hell I didn't loose this race, most people would dream of moments like this.

You set your goals high enough and one day you will be rowing with these people thinking how and heck did I get here

i didn't get the chance to talk to him, it was a big group and i had to leave early for work, but it was still fun and i got to hold an olympic gold medal.
