I found great socks in H&M and won't wear anything else now. I can't feel any seams at all in them and socks usually drive me to despair. They're organic cotton sports socks. They also do a slightly cheaper version in non-organic cotton, which is almost as good. They feel very thick when you put them on, but after a minute or two with shoes on, they mould around your feet and your feet won't be squashed. Sorry, I don't know if you're male or female. I found them in the kids section and the ladies, but I don't know if they have them in the mens. Even if you are male, some of the ladies designs were unisex.

Yes.
This was something when I was younger I forgot about. I hate the inside seam, and the corners against the ends of my toes. Before the school bus would come I would get bothered from it. I remembered in Gym wearing shorts a few kids noticed and made fun of me for having socks inside out. So there was certain socks they the band looks the same inside out, or was thin I could fold down so the band was facing out the right way. And not look funny folder over itself.

wearing socks inside out?

when i am "inside out", i do not bother to put socks on.

but i am never "inside out", so i will answer that i am very sensitive to seams, and i will wear "inside out" socks if it feels better that way. they are only "inside out" as far as other people are concerned.

Yes, I have worn my socks inside out for decades. The toe seam is very irritating when it is directly against my skin. Wearing the socks inside out solved the problem. One of my Aspy sensitivities is skin issues, like from the story, "The Princess and the Pea". I have to be careful when buying shoes and sneakers. Most of them have a rough back seam right at the back of my heels, just below the ankle. When I have had foot gear with rough back seams, it has chafed and cut my heels. I only buy ones that have a smooth, or no seam there, now. I can't wear flip flops at all, because the thing that goes between the big toe and the others cuts my skin at the base of the toe gap. Clothing tags located in the neck area drive me nuts, too, and I have many other skin issues with clothes.

I think the Land's End clothing catalog has seamless toe socks, or it might be L.L. Bean. I tend to get those two mixed up, and I haven't had any of their catalogs in years, but one of them did have those socks. I think I have seen them in Walmart men's department, as well, more recently.

Although I am female, I have very long, broad feet, and the tops are also high, so I have to buy men's socks, and foot gear. I don't care for girly shoe styles anyway, so I don't mind the men's styles, as long as I can get a good fit. Because the tops of my feet are so high, along with being broad, I often have to leave one or two pairs of holes unlaced, too.

Don't worry about what other people think. It's your body, and you have a right to wear things in the way that's best for you. And remember, we on the spectrum are all:

A Different Drummer

If a man does not keep pace with his companions,
Perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears,
However measured or far away.

--Henry David Thoreau

I didn't think they sold them with the irritating 'lump' at the toes anymore. All the socks I've purchased in the last couple decades didn't have them. I think mine are Hanes. I get mens sport socks, they are thicker (made better) and more comfy then womans (same goes for most mens clothes). Perhaps it's just womans socks that have the lump in the toes?

What I find irritating is when the elastic is too tight around the ankles.

I prefer my socks turned inside out too. They're much more comfy that way. I'm no fashionista & couldn't care less if someone else thinks it's a strange habit.

Yes, I have to or I'll go mad. I'd wear everything that way if I could get away with it.

I'm usually oblivious to the state of my socks, except a vague sense that I'm wearing some.

EDIT: I have on three socks. That's kind of what I meant.

You lot are strange! I'd go mad putting them on inside out; if I went out like that accidentally I'd be driven to distraction by the fact that it was "wrong".

I can see that.

IMHO, most socks are made wrong to begin with. I have worn the same exact brand and style of socks for over twenty years now. Black Athletecs with the yellow threads inside the cuffs.

I wear them inside out so the toe seem doesn't get caught between my toes. Also, the nap inside the socks tends to wear off, getting stuck all over my feet and between toes, which is annoying as hell. Inside out, the nap doesn't wear as much, and never gets stuck anywhere, plus the seem lines up better and never bothers me. Also, nobody can even tell they're inside out.

Anybody seen the movie "Finding Forrester?" Sean Connery's character did the same thing.

Why wear socks I think are "made wrong?" They are the only brand I've ever found I can find consistently, and they last longer than any other brand I've ever tried.

I too have been wearing the same buying and wearing the same socks for many years. Black M&S elasticated sports with arch support. Nothing else will do. I'll be very upset if they stop manufacturing them.

i love new socks. i have to make sure all the lint is shaken out of the inside, but socks are the one article of clothing i do wear correct side out/in. I have ONE type of sock I have found to be acceptable. I have worn only them for many years. Hanes crew cut. And the particular kind may be more specific than that, not sure exactly what they would be called, but i know what they look like.

all other articles i wear inverted unless i am in public. shirt must be very soft to escape inversion even in public. and if its my day off sometimes i dont care. i know people think im special. which is true.

soft pajama pants are cool too.

boxers always always inside out.

tmi sorry
