I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem as me with bras.

Bras in general are a pain, and "normal" bras are the worst, with straps and cups. Digs, pokes, slips and whatnot. I prefer sports type bras, preferably racerback so they don't slip around on my shoulders.

But regardless of what kind of bra I wear they ALWAYS bother me on my left side, not so much on the right.

I'm constantly adjusting them on top of my left shoulder and it always feel like they are bothering me under my arm on the same side, I'm regularly lifting and rotating my arm and generally fidgeting on that side to try to lessen the discomfort.

Now, I have checked to se both if I'm wearing it crooked (nope) and whether my boobs are the same size (insignificant difference), but there is nothing obviously wrong.

I do not have any other problems with sensory issues limited to one side only.

Does anyone else have it the same way?

I don't have that specific sensitivity, but I have plenty of others. If a hair gets down my shirt, I will go bat-sh*t crazy until I get it out. We Aspies tend to have that princess and the pea syndrome.

This reminds me of my mother calling me the "princess who couldn't sleep on a pea" because I couldn't sleep if my bed sheets were wrinkled. I would make her smooth them out (I thought I must really be a princess).
As for bras, if I wanted to torture myself, I would wear a rubber band around my chest.

The first thing I do when I get home is peel off my bra, rarely wear it at home, unless I have visitors, which thankfully isn't often.

I've put on quite a lot of weight the last couple of years, making my boobs nearly twice the size they used to be, I simply can't get myself to go braless in public any more.

I don't worry or care much about social standards usually, but this is a comfort issue for me, I'm simply not comfortable with my tits "flapping in the wind" in public.

Wish I could wear them less, but I work, so it's not an option :(

I have had this problem sometimes and I have always assumed it was due to the fact that bras are symmetrical, whereas the human body is not. Finding a decent fitter helps, although it seems to be that every time I find one I am happy with the shop closes or the staff member leaves :x

If a sports bra is uncomfortable under the arm, it probly isn't asymmetry in the breast that is the problem. The breast tissue under the arm, commonly known as armpit fat, may be different on the irritated side. There are lymph node in the armpit as well. They could be different sizes, whether it's naturally that size or due to swelling.

When my bras hurt on only one side it's because matching underwire won't fit two different size breasts. With a sports bra, cup size is less relevent, so a difference won't matter, even one that wasn't slight.

I always feel like a horse, when I need to put that damn bra on. In winter i wear wool pullovers, so i can avoid bras, but in summer for worked I am forced to wear that garbage. :(

I wear the wool pullover in winter because of the cold, so there are two cozy cotton shirts (long undershirt and a normal longsleeve shirt) under the pullover anyway. But I agree with you, wool on naked skin would be unpleasant. ^^

Maybe it's to do with posture? I used to carry a heavy bag on my left shoulder all the time as a teenager and young adult and tended to lean to the right to compensate. I saw an x-ray of my neck and shoulder area at a chiropractor's office and my neck leans a bit to the right kind of permanently now. :x

I hate knowing this, but there's a market for asymmetrical bras. You can order halves with different sizes or colors. This lets you properly fit both sides of your body, which like anyone else's will rarely be exactly the same size.

Here's an example:

uhh yeah, I dont like bras either however 99.99% of them dont fit me. Im very flat but a larger circumference then most A cups plus I have long shoulders so finding a regular bra that fits me is very very difficult. I wear sport bras a lot of the time.

The bra straps can bug me since they fall down and then underwire bras are sometimes painful, but not always and it depends on the bra.

I had this problem before, but I found out it wasn't due to any sort of sensory problems. It's actually a very common problem; Your bra might not fit. A lot of women think they have correctly fitting bras, but it actually cuts into their breast tissue, and you can't really tell. For a long time, I thought I was a 36 DD. In fact, in the USA, DD is pretty much the highest you can get. Any woman who's breasts look "big" are dubbed a DD, no matter HOW big. I ended up being a size 38 FF. There are loads of women who think they are a B cup, and are actually a DD. It depends on the band size. You can look somewhat smaller, and still be a DD. Take a look at this site and let me know if you find one that fits, or if your bras already fit according to this woman's advice. If it does fit, it might be the material. Certain materials on bras do cause problems, and I have had to slip a piece of cotton fabric in between it and my skin.
