I dislike the feelings of certain textures so I always wear this special textured sock made from Calvin Klein. I hate the feeling of sand, certain rugs and carpets, and silky textures. I can't remember the last time I walked around without wearing socks. I even wear socks in my sleep and as soon as I get out of the shower, I have to dry my feet and put on my socks before I leave the bathroom. I made socks part of my physical feature lol. Is anybody the same way?

No, but If I had that sensory issue, I'd do the same thing.

have sensory issues - I can not tolerate the way surfaces feel under my feet when I have shoes on in the house or socks. Especially when in bed to sleep.

I can't stand standing on grass or sand with shoes on.. but I can't stand being barefoot outside either. I can tolerate most carpets being barefoot but dislike wood floors so will wear my shoes on those even though I hate the noise my shoes make. I have to take my shoes off before i can walk onto the carpeted area.

**sigh** reading what I wrote I sound very weird.

But I hate socks and wear open toed sandals even in winter.

Me too. I wear cotton socks 24 hours a day. I don't like the way my feet feel without socks, everything hurts them if I don't have socks on. I don't even like the way the air feels on my feet. Also I am always shrugging my shoulders to try to get rid of the feeling of clothes rubbing on my shoulders and back, even without the tags they make my skin hurt.

I always wear socks, they add a pleasent consistancy to what my feet feel and I dislike most floor textures in my home, the soles in my shoes. I also have a very bad fear of not seeing and steping on random things barefoot like a cat throw up for example and freaking out or falling or something like that from the sensory torture. I like thick and soft socks best with a good elastic so they stay up and don't feel lose and bunch up or worse slide down into my shoe! I only go sockless if they get wet then I prefer the inside of my shoe or my floor, the lesser of 2 evils.

Marybird, I have to constantly adjust how my clothes are fitting on me to feel comfortable, the softer the fabric, the fewer the seems and the better the fit(either really loose or really tight) the better I can feel.

I mostly wear socks - but trying not to as better for feet.

Fir me it's mostly about not liking to get my feet dirty - stuff on the bottom of your feet is all sorts of distracting and uncomfortable. I have issues with how hard my heels touch the ground, normally this effects me when outdoors, in new shoes, or if I have my earphones in I'm more aware of this, but indoors the socks help cushion the feeling.

I do in winter 24/7, but now it's getting warmer, the feeling of sweat in between my toes as a result of wearing socks is far more unpleasant, and so I don't wear them. Also, if socks get caught in strange places, I just can't stand it. I find socks mostly cause more sensory issues than they prevent. Probably just me.

I am the opposite. Hate having shoes and socks on, immediately take them both off when i get back to my house every day no matter what time of year. regularly take my shoes off at work for the day too, often wear trainer socks so it feels like I am wearing no socks

I don't think I need socks of a certain texture, though some are more comfy than others. Bottom line is, I can't stand going barefoot anywhere, even on a supposedly clean floor. And like the OP, I must put on socks as soon as I dry my feet after a shower. Though I don't sleep with them on.

I only wear socks most of the time because my feet get cold easily indoors, and I hate having cold feet (not many people do). I also don't feel right if I have bare feet with trousers on. I can go around barefoot if it's summer and is really hot outside, because I wear slip-on sandals in the summer and I'm usually in and out of the garden and I wear shorts or half-masts.

But otherwise, I wear socks all the time, except for after I get out of the shower or bath in the evenings, and I don't generally wear socks to bed unless it is an exceptionally cold night and my feet are very cold.

Yeah, I almost always wear socks for the same reason.

I also wear them too. I do not like to go barefoot. I do when I head to the shower or get out. But I always have socks on. That is why mine wear out so fast.

Yeah, I almost always wear socks too. If I don't have them on it bothers me. And I don't wear non-sock footwear either like sandals or flip-flops.

I always wear socks but that's mostly because I have perpetually freezing feet. Honestly, I'm like a corpse...
