I agree; hugs are really nice. I particularly enjoy hugging girls I know; not girlfriends (never had the benefit of one), but female friends. Over the years, I learned the NT "hug etiquette", so I know how to give the right amount of pressure when I hug someone. I also figured out how to vary the pr...

very active, never still, pretty agile, risk-taking behaviour (jumping from chair to chair, balancing on bed rail, sitting on edge of furniture, balancing/walking on narrow structures) extremely talkative (never stops), incessant questioning (each answer just leads to another question), unusual que...

You need to go to the police. You can either call 911, or better yet, do this. Tell your parents you're going to [a place they wouldn't worry about]. In the meantime, drive over to your city's police station, and file a child abuse report. If you're over 18, the charge would be domestic violence, no...

I've been hearing about an urban legend. Let me know what you think. There a place called Cuba Rd. in Barrington, IL (a suburb northwest of Chicago). It runs through a very underdeveloped area. It has nothing but farmhouses, farms, and a forest preserve. The houses are extremely large, with driveway...

Have her drawn and quartered. Or just put her on a guillotine, and let go of the rope.

Where's the weirdest place you've ever fallen asleep? Where's the weirdest place you've ever thrown up? Where's the weirdest place you've ever made whoopee? 1. On the floor, even though there was an empty folded-out sofa right next to me. 2. Off the bridge; it landed into a boxcar of a train passin...

I like all pets. But if forced to decide, then I'd say I'm a dog person.

The response was in support of Amtrak. Someone mentioned that trains are cool. In resonse, I said: "Well, you better not vote for Bush. He wants to cut off Amtrak's funding." I don't remember the rest of the conversation, but my comment fit in pretty well. At the very least, Kerry fans backed me up.

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: I like animals better than people

You think animals are incapable of cruelty? Think again. I witnessed the following scenario at a bus terminal, when transferring between buses. It was a few years ago, but it was disturbing nonetheless. A flock of pigeons was crowding around an area, where someone dumped a pile of bread crumbs. Ther...

I'd hunt, although I'd try to shoot an animal in a way that kills it instantly. Killing an animal for food is one thing, but there's no need to make it suffer. Fishing is different. Since fish have less complex nervous systems than birds and mammals, their suffering is less strong when they're pulle...

I'm quite the opposite. I'm pretty sure that I'll end up dating the first girl who likes me, as long as she's at least somewhat attractive, has basic social skills, enjoys some things I enjoy, and can make me feel at ease in her presence. The last one is pretty much outside my control. I've had expe...

When listening to music, I tend to "deconstruct" the sound into its components and listen to individual instruments or sound effects rather than perceiving the music as a whole. After repeated listenings, I retain enough detail to reassemble the parts and "play" the music in my head with remarkable...

Atheist. Used to practice Judaism many years ago. When people ask me, I saw I'm Jewish, 'cause atheism doesn't seem socially acceptable in the U.S. The deception is pretty easy; I still remember most things I studied.

i have to say that, given the plethora of posts which suggest how traumatic people find it not to have had sex by whatever age they are, AND from personal experiences of such people, it seems to me that the relief of visiting a prostitute just to get the dam* thing over with is probably worth it (a...

Alcohol is definitely helpful in social situations. Usually, I'm uncomfortable talking to girls, but when I have enough to drink, I'm as comfortable as an NT.
But yeah, you don't want to make a habit out of it.
