Yes, I've come across this site before, and yes, it is a parody. Some of those jokes were in particularly poor taste, and it's certainly nowhere I'd like to spend my time, but they are at least not sincere. If you doubt that it's meant in jest, remember that difficulty detecting sarcasm is a part of...

Well all he has to do is discuss it to the right people in private it was clearly stated that the public meeting was not the place. Granted it is a kid and the adults should just sit down with him and talk it though after that. It is stated multiple times in the article that he was not being allowe...

Hypothetically, if someone were hypothetically planning to hypothetically deface an Autism Speaks monument, hypothetically, what slogan should they paint on it? Hypothetically?
Something short and snappy with a clear message, like "Autism Speaks hates Autistic people." Hypothetically. |

That must have been deeply traumatising for the woman, having someone die on top of her. I severely doubt she'll feel sad about his death, but it has to be awful anyway. I don't like the wording there - "stopped having sex with her." He wasn't having sex with her, he was raping her. Same mechanics, ...

That's ridiculous. We don't actually live much longer these days; it's just that fewer people die young from illness or accident, and the media doesn't know what the word "average" means.

You might be an Aspie you cut school to spend the day at the library and read all day (I did this back when I was in high school just a few short years before the unlimited "library" of the internet became a part of my life) Ditto, except mine was a book shop. They had a cafe upstairs that I sat in...

Oh, for crying out loud. Compulsive lying is a trait of sociopathy, not Asperger's. 'Excessive' honesty is a trait of autism. Spock is nothing like an aspie; Data is a better fit, with his desire for normalcy and his inability to achieve it or express the emotions he feels. Going to a shrink and bei...

I'm always pleased for the opportunity to speak to someone else who is autistic, regardless of their label. I have more in common with most "LFA" people than most NTs.

Yes, absolutely. Just because you don't hit every stereotype and then some, doesn't make you not an aspie. I'm a poet, too, and you wouldn't get very far as a poet without some understanding of metaphors. We are all individuals, with our own personalities, our own strengths and weaknesses, our own h...

Autism and sociopathy can look alike from the outside , but are pretty much polar opposites in truth. The short version is this: sociopaths understand emotions but do not feel them, aspies feel them but don't understand them. It's a lot more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it. However,...

I'm not exactly sure how I felt about this movie. For one thing, was it just me or was Adam a little TOO Autistic? While I was watching him I just kept worrying that that's how I actually act. But I don't. I'm not great with other people but generally I can function fairly alright with them. He jus...

Wash and wear, although I always brush it thoroughly. I only wash it once or twice a week, though, unless I have an interview the next day. I sometimes wear hats, mostly if it's greasy, but if you have sensory sensitivities that won't work. Besides, I'm informed that it's rude to wear a hat at mealt...

I was twelve percent NT. Honestly, though, I think the quiz could use some work. It needs a proofread, for starters. Also, the later, more situational questions were too restrictive; for some of them I would have done something completely different from any of the "answers". For example, in #38. I w...

40 on the Wired test, but they don't specify what that actually means. Is high aspie or NT?
Didn't take the out-of-200 one because it asks for my biological gender, and anyone who doesn't know that gender = sociological and biological = sex can't have made a very proffessional test. |
