| Hi skibum and thank you for the welcome and for the explanation. From what you describe, the biggest problem LFA have is the low IQ rather than autism and it is not obvious to me if one is caused by the other. I don't think that my IQ is in any way related to my symptoms but it did seem to me that a... |

| I am not sure if I have a right to an opinion here. I am not diagnosed in any way and quite honestly I wish there was something other than the label of autism that I could refer myself and other people to. To me it seems entirely unhelpful to have the spectrum , but diagnosticians are referring to t... |

| OK, I am not entirely sure if I am correct in my assessment of your situation, but they way I see it is kind of like this: a) you are aware of the fact you are psychotic - which means you live in your own made up universe, most of the time b) you are also aware of the fact that there is another worl... |

| As long as there are bugs men will be needed. I secretly re-release mine in a out of the way corner of the basement. Job security is job #1. That was funny. However, I got over my fear of bugs when I got rid of the man who was keeping me in false dependancy by being the spider remover. At the same ... |

| We should most definitely discourage the practice of thinking of or issuing ultimatums in any circumstance. In this particular circumstance, I believe the woman has demonstrated that she takes the man for granted and has shown a complete lack of respect for his feelings or wants or needs in that sit... |

| On a few occasions that I broached this subject and had the response of Don't be silly, you are not autistic, I believe people were simply not well informed about the spectrum. Also, what annoys me is that those same people don't actually know me but instead behave as if whatever their story about m... |

Thank you so much for writing this and sharing here. It describes the problem so well for those of us who understand metaphor. |

| It never ends, true. I have been living in constant fear even before I realised that I may be on the spectrum and even more since as my doctor advised me against getting diagnosed saying it would go against me. Actually to date three different doctors all said the same thing. And I think it's even m... |

| Glad you like my title :) In terms of examples, I mean, being forgetful (like forgetting my keys which I never normally do) or not being sure how to prioritise my life/to do lists (again, normally this is effortless for me). I think it's something to do with depression. Like, I know I have to get be... |

Why would we? There is so much we don't know about our bodies and how they work, and especially almost nothing is known about ASD in terms of the biology. |

| This is why people think you have romantic interest if you keep eye contact for longer than a second or two. That would explain why men seem to think I'm interested in them when I'm not. I've thought of that, but it's hard for me to believe that just looking at someone a few seconds too long could ... |

| You know what you gotta do to get less broke, right? Sell my blood plasma. :P Well, actually you can't do that in Canada... but hopefully I'll be getting a few bucks my way for babysitting my neighbors' son. Well, I did sell my plasma today, and so my wife and I are getting stinking drunk on flavor... |

Not recently. I take a lot of vitamins etc. but maybe old fashioned fish oil wouldn't hurt. Although I think I read somewhere that it only works when you are younger, but maybe I am misremembering that. Thank you for the suggestion! |
