Uhhhhhh...

Thanks for the originality? Seriously, that joke is dead. :P

Anyway, I posted this topic to let whomever actually has control over this issue know that the issue exits.

So, I entered my birthday to show my age on my profile, but eventually ended up removing it. Not because I'm uncomfortable with displaying my age, but instead because the software got it wrong. Yes, before asked, I double and triple checked. I entered my birthdate 100% correctly. Nevertheless, the s...

I have struggled with keeping jobs before. It seems like every job I have had has failed in some way, shape or form. I have trouble understanding and remembering directions, and am overwhelmed by cash registers. Due to this, I have frequently been fired or quit, and have never worked at one place lo...

I second Joe90. While I'm most definitely autistic and I do most definitely have a slightly pointed ear, I do not believe the two have a cause in common. Ear deformities can come from any number of things, including (as in my case) the way I was resting after birth. My left ear simply didn't fold pr...

I think many of us have heard of weighted blankets for helping to calm autistic people, but what about weighted plush? I recently ordered two weighted plush; One from a company on Amazon, one from a seller on Etsy. They just arrived earlier today! The first is well-made and well sewn, and about 3-4 ...

So, I noticed that I seem to attach to stuffed animals more than people. I love to cuddle them, and like to buy comfort objects like stuffed animals and kigurumi when I'm upset...it's a bad habit I have.

So I have to wonder...

Is it common for autistic adults to not grow out of stuffed animals?

Please don't make jokes about this post. I'm dead serious. Anyway, one of the stims I do is pinching my armpits and uh...smelling my hand after. I don't really stink, usually (I try to keep myself clean), but there's something comforting in what most would consider unpleasant scents. So combine that...

Does anyone else feel misunderstood a lot? I can name several examples: 1. When I was still attending high school, I did something or said something (I don't remember what), and got in trouble. I couldn't understand what I had done wrong, and when I asked to find out, I was snapped at, "Cut it ...

My therapist has told me that I'm "on the spectrum" when it comes to autism. I heard that it's debatable whether high functioning autism/autism spectrum and Asperger's are the same disorder. Is there a difference?

Thank you both for the ideas! I'm sorry for returning to this thread so late!

Quivers, I bought an exercise ball from my local Target, and it works beautifully! It's almost exactly like jumping on a trampoline for me. Thank you so much for the wonderful suggestion! :D

As a child, I used to jump on the bed or swing on swings to reduce hyperactive energy. I found these calming, and enjoyed the repetitive motions. Running never worked as well (also I have asthma, and running too much tends to trigger coughing fits for me). My mother noticed that I was using the bed ...

Welcome! I'm also a nerd! Is your text based game a dice rolling sort of RPG, or is it more a writing a story sort of RPG? If I knew more about Star Trek, I would be beyond enthusiastic about possibly joining the group! ;) Doctor Who is a great show, too. :) (As a side-note, yes, I saw your PM. :P )

I also have difficulty holding in my meltdowns, and can relate to "exploding" if I do. My explosions, however, generally involve suicidal behavior, rather than homicidal behavior. I never want to hurt anyone else, but I'll admit, sometimes I do want to hurt myself... Parents will always wa...

Yeah... I can only be taken in small doses it seems... I really hate when I start making a new friend and I begin to act more myself but then it becomes "too much". This for me too. I can make a good first impression and a person thinks they like me. Then further contact makes it all star...

Thanks for the sympathy. I appreciate it. A lot has gone on lately that's been upsetting me. I may be in a small down swing right now as well...and I think my new tattoo somehow became infected, so I'm trying to contact my tattoo artist and my doctor. I'm very anxious and stressed right now. I'm ha...
