I'm revealed if people assume I'm asexual because of my Autism. It saves me trying to explain myself.
My experience is :
When I tell people I have Aspergers or Autism they accept it. When I tell someone I'm Asexual they try to cure me. |

I try to watch any show that explores Autism but being Asexual I cannot relate to the character at all. It all seems to be about lust and pursuing sex. |

| Thanks andy33, not what I wanted to hear but I should probably heed your warning. Follow-up question: after some time, would you make contact or want the other person to make contact? I was only relating it to my own feelings and past experiences. Sometimes trying to understand other people's feeli... |

| Give him SPACE. This has happened to me many times. I make a friend and they start to show too much affection - which scares me and makes me feel smothered. Even though I react like this I do not know why. As someone that doesn't understand sexual or romantic feelings I freak out very easily if some... |

| I guess I'm a typical Aspie then. Even as a child I did not like being touched. I think most of it comes down to sensory issues but for some reason I tend to get scared off even if people become verbally affectionate. I handle friendships better now but I use to feel uncomfortable even if someone re... |

| I've noticed this is a common theme here. I've never experienced romantic or sexual attraction and use to think it was because I had Aspergers. I use to think all Autistic or Aspergers people were asexual. I think it still may be related in some way. I'm sure I will still be a virgin at 45, perhaps ... |

| I shower about 4-5 times a day. It is the only time I don't feel stressed. Quite often I like them cold too There have been days once in a blue moon where I've showered twice. However, I could never handle a cold shower. However, we all have our tastes. I probably should have said "Luke Warm&q... |

I don't like the feel of meat or fruit in my mouth so I avoid eating them. Physical contact from people is the worst. I don't even like it when people stand too close because I can feel their body heat or smell their scent. Certain fabrics drive me crazy too. |

| When I was in my late 30's, a couple of times I had girls ask if I was a virgin. Each time I said YES they ended up trying to pressure me into trying something sexual with them. I'm guessing they could already tell I was. I don't know if it was a turn on or just some sort of novelty for them. Either... |

| I use to think all Aspergers/Autistics were Asexual. I was quite shocked when I found out it wasn't the case. I still can't wrap my head around what romantic feeling actually are. |

| I have never had any interest in having sex but the idea of it does scare me. Even the thought of someone kissing me repulses me. |
