I don't go anywhere on my own, unless I've been there before. I have to know the road, where to park, etc. If I am unfamiliar with the place, my husband and I drive together once or twice. Especially the parking is critical. If I can't find a parking space, I will turn around and drive straight home...

If you look at my age, you can see that I have had a lifetime of experience in "pretending" to be an NT. I'm pretty good at it, but I don't like it. Pretending was a way to survive before I was diagnosed with ASD.

An honest answer to the question would be : I do not deal with social anxiety. At all. It's part of my life and always will be. Hiding in the bathroom sounds familiar.
