At least you managed to find a partner. In that regard, you are doing better than many autistic people.

Unfortunately, people who have grown up around highly manipulative people tend to assume that everything is a mind game and that genuine misunderstandings are rare. This is true whether or not the people around them were genuinely manipulative. If someone has always had the attitude that those arou...

They've given in. People are afraid to do what's right. That is what Trump wants. I wouldn't say that these people have given in. They've just shifted their tactics. The new tactics might even be more effective at convincing large numbers of people NOT to vote Republican in near-future elections.

It seems like a stretch to blame socialism as the root cause, or even among the root causes. Overspending and poorly implemented social spending aren't synonymous with socialism and from the sounds of things, the social programs weren't out of line with the sorts liberals pursued in other places. I...

The problem with house-husbands is that they don't know how to maintain a household, so they are pretty much useless. I remember when women tried that, hooking up with men when they earned more, but the men didn't make themselves useful enough for the relationship to continue. Bit of an overgeneral...

And while it’s easy to target billionaires, the truth is not all billionaires are evil. Some inherited their wealth, some do invest in positive causes, and some are just cogs in a system that rewards exploitation whether they ask for it or not. It’s the system itself that’s the problem—not always t...

A few of them 1. Whenever someone seems to play mind games by asking you a question. When you answer, that person says "No that's not my question." That one really pushes my buttons. Another thing they do is "That still does not tell me anything." 2. Whenever someone asks you fo...

I don't have any friends, none i don't know anyone either, I'm not joking. Looking at other posts of yours here on Wrong Planet, I see that you have a strong interest in politics. Have you ever been involved in any kind of political activism? If not, I would suggest that you do so. If you go about ...

Is this even real? young women 18-29 who don't come from conservative Christian households overwhelmingly supported Harris in the last election.

The news story is from a site based in Dallas, Texas. Texas is in the Bible Belt and is a "red" state.

Nobody likes being criticized, even if they recognize that being criticized is a necessary evil. I don't criticise people I think. When they ask for my opinion and don't like it, I don't think that's criticism. And when I do feel hurt by others and tell them, I always start with: 'I feel this when ...

The only subcultures we should be promoting are goth, hipster, hippie, and anarcho-punk.

How about the LGBTQ+ community?

Also, we need a much better-organized autistic community (and a much better-organized neurodivergent community more generally) than now exists.

Nobody wants that life anymore, especially not young women. Indeed I wouldn't expect very many young women to want it. I was just pointing out some specific ways that the "conservative" worldview is out of touch with reality, for those who do want to go back to 1950's-style social norms (...

But what I do have a love of is cultural diversity -- including a diversity of international modern subcultures as well as a diversity of traditional cultures. In my experience such diversity can, other factors being equal, make life much easier for ...

My pet peeves include:

1) Being compelled or pressured to wear uncomfortable clothing. I avoid "formal" events for that reason.

2) Cliquish groups that are supposedly open to new members, but make no effort to help newcomers feel welcome.
