The last time I had a part-time job, it was mostly with female coworkers. I could get along with males just fine, but there happened to be more females. Also, I got along with the ladies because a couple of them (one in particular) took me under their wing and helped me to be more social and engage ...

I'm 5' 7", and am trying to lose weight to 120 pounds, because I like the way I look and feel at that weight. Although maybe 125 pounds would be more realistic, because I have a naturally thick-set, muscular build.

I'm 5' 7", 155 pounds, and am trying to lose weight in a healthy manner. Ideally, I'd like to reach 120 pounds, because that's the weight I used to be and felt good at. I'm trying to eat just three meals a day, and exercise daily. I need to be patient with my weight loss, because otherwise I'll...

If you're already at a healthy weight/BMI, you might not need to lose weight. Your health depends on many things, not just your weight. Also, you can be overweight but healthy if your weight is mostly muscle mass. So unless you really need to lose weight, you could just focus on eating healthy meals...

Oh my goodness! You have almost the same situation as me. I'm 19 as well, but it was unanimously agreed by my friends and family that I behave like an 11 year old.

When I was younger (maybe 10 or 11) I would stay up till 10 reading books. Then I developed a regular sleeping schedule as a young teen (bed at 9, wake up at 6). And now my sleep schedule is wacky. I usually go to bed some time around 1 o'clock, but I've stayed up as late as 3. I've tried re-establi...

Not that I know of. I used to be underweight, and now I'm chubby, so maybe there's some truth to the stereotype, but autistic people come in all shapes and sizes. I doubt that you would be mistaken for an NT purely on your body type.

I am thinking about eating one meal a day as well, mostly because I get annoyed having to eat so often when I do Intuitive Eating. I seem to have a fairly fast metabolism, though, and can lose weight quickly if I don't eat enough, so I'll have to be careful to get enough calories. But it seems like ...

I used to have anorexia (although I think it was more related to autism routines and rituals than trying to be thin). Then I went through a period where I was at a healthy weight, and then I developed binge eating disorder (not professionally diagnosed, but describes my disordered eating pretty well...

I don't care if its person-first or identity-first language. In the big picture, does it really matter?

For me, the stereotype is true. I almost never lie. If there's something I don't want to say, I may omit some parts of the story, but I try to always remain truthful and not lie or deceive. I don't like omitting the truth. I'm terrible at lying, because I always tell people I lied after the fact. Wh...

I'm subscribed to Fathering Autism, and I find them to be informational, while still respecting their autistic daughter (she has "low-functioning" non-verbal autism). One thing they said that really earned my respect was that they don't do stim-suppression. They do ABA therapy to teach the...

I have an awesome friendship with an NT. She is actually 5 years younger than me (I'm 19) but we're on a similar emotional/mental level so it works out. I find that younger NTs are easier to befriend and relate to, since my emotional development is behind my peers. Anyways, she has been around me en...

I think my hearing is fine. I can hear soft sounds, and sounds at different frequencies. But I often misunderstand what others are saying, or have trouble understanding what they are saying, especially when there is background noise. It has become something of a joke in my family, because I always m...
