... I have insomnia too. I work very hard to control it, but lately I too have been going to bed at anywhere from 3 to 5 in the morning. During finals I took a large dose of Nyquil at around 11pm every night to go to sleep. Very bad, I know, but I had to. The bad thing about ear plugs is a) they som...

My question for homeschoolers is an interesting one, particularly when related to people with AS. I feel that I learned more social skills because I was at the school enviroment. My mom looks back and wonders if she should have homeschooled me, but I feel like if I was homeschool I would not have an...

I have the hardcore construction style earplugs. Lol. And yea, I know how to put them in. It just shows how loud people are. I wish I could live off campus but unfortunately we are not allowed to until we are atleast 20 or of junior status. I have a while to go before I am either of those things (mo...

Ugh. I concure. My roommate is sooo annoying. So are the boys above us, and all the girls around us. Quiet hours starts at 10:30. No one is quiet until 1 or 2 am. Annoying things my roommate does: Leaves her phone on high when she goes to sleep. Then her friends text her all night. Does she turn it ...

I didn't take the ACT, but on the New SAT I got a 1750, or Math/Reading I got a 1220. Most colleges around here do not factor in the new writing section... and it was my lowest score. Got a 620 in math, 600 in reading and a 530 on the writing. The average math/reading score for my fairly selective p...

Yes -- it requires documentation that these things are actually nessiary to my education. I was just wondering what sort of things have worked for other members... what they found useful.

Oh gosh yeah. I don't think that is fair. I am not looking for extra time so that I can do like, perfect A+. Actually if I could have a quiet enviroment that would probably solve most of my problem. Just in the noisy classroom enviroment really messes with me. But anyway, I totally understand what y...

It's alright. I understand where you are coming from. I know several people with disabilities who get a disability check from the government and just sit around all day. There are situations where that is acceptable and necessary, but these people are very highly functional and very intelligent. Any...

I agree with you about accommodations. In high school they wanted to give me accommodations, but I refused because I was like "no i can do as well as the other students.. etc". Well, it is true I am usually able to take the test and do reasonably well, and so forth like that. But at the same rate, I...

Other accommodations I am thinking of include: quiet testing environment with a somewhat extended testing time books on computer (pdf form, scanned, whatever) ability to do homework on my computer (I have a tablet PC) and send them in, or print them out and hand them in. most of my teachers wont cu...

.. I'm kind of in same situation as you Quirky. I like to do want I do when I need/want to do it. Often times when my roommates boyfriend comes over I just kind of sit on my bed and like, have to wear earplugs or whatever. They aren't so disrespectiful that they do anything dirty while I am in the r...

I think you should get a roommate. You can't avoid dealing with people and the world. Getting a single only enables your sickness. First of all, I don't think of it as a sickness. Secondly, your right, I don't want to isolate myself. Which is why I need my room to be near that of my friends. But I ...

Really... did you have to pull a lot of strings to get this? What did you say/do/tell them in order to get a single room?

Often myself I feel very bad and horrible and disgusting to see other kids getting picked on, or made fun of, or anything of that sort. I also feel desperately bad when I see kids eating lunch by themselves. I think its because I understand their positions. The chubby kid with acne who eats lunch on...

Also Aspergers people usually develop language at a normal time. And I know when I was little I did talk, a lot. But I was just me rambling about stuff, not real interaction.

I am a freshman also. Sometimes I feel like I wish I could just go back home. Like whenever I do go back home and see my family and get to watch tv and just relax and be comfortable and have no one bug me except people that I like (family/boyfriend). But I know that there is no calling for me in the...
