When people show me empathy, I usually feel they are somehow being fake. I accept it, and I do appreciate the fact that they are attempting to understand what I'm going through, or where I'm coming from, but the fact remains that they'll never experience anything from my particular perspective. I do...

Gotcha. The OP asked about neuropsychologists however, which is why I assumed that is what you meant.

TOTALLY understandable!

Wow, looks like America really sucks!! I mean I already knew that, but now it seems as if it sucks even harder! Your medical system over there is a joke, same goes for your so called medical 'professionals'. Kick backs and pill pushing, that's disgusting! I still have my doubts tho, I mean that lin...

So, in my opinion, even if it costs more, I'd get assessed by a neuropsych, who would ALSO be able to prescribe medicine if needed. Good luck! Neuropsychologists cannot prescribe medicine. They are basically just clinical psychologists with some additional specialized training. They are not medical...

This is just my opinion, and I'm certainly not an expert. Psychologists (for our family) have been fairly decent for assessments. Although the one we dealt with missed some very key points concerning my son, she certainly did illustrate a lot of things about him that we didn't understand. Psychologi...

I do this, it's a great release, and since no one hears it, I don't have to worry about hurt feelings.

Depression... good old depression. I'm sitting here with a pair of scissors that I've been scraping the skin on my arm with. I signed on here today to see if there were any people feeling the way I do right now, and this post was second on the list. I could call a 1-800 #, but they'd likely tell me ...

Years ago, when my son was a baby, I heard I believe on Maury Povich (of all places)... "Never have more children than you are capable of raising." Through our trials & tribulations... and with me and my own personal neurological disarray, I decided it was best not to have any more kids. No, it'...

Does anyone know if I can find any sensory processing forms online? Like a checklist that I could print off? I'd sort of like to see where my 12 year old son falls. I mean, there are some real obvious sensory issues with him, but I'd like to see the things in him which maybe aren't so obvious. Perha...

From my perspective, autism is what it is. Which to me means a neurobiological difference. I highly doubt Autism Speaks , or your sister will EVER change that. I would feel offended (which I have from MANY people) if they thought the world would be a shinier, happy place without it. If she were my s...

I chose mild AS. In the midst of my most severe symptoms, it certainly doesn't feel mild.. however, I consider myself milder due to the fact that I've been at the same mundane job for almost 10 years, so at least I'm employed and able to earn some sort of income on my own (not a lot of one, it's par...

When I was younger, I used to describe myself as having an addictive personality. Usually because I'd get glued to whatever my interest may be at the time. This is why I haven't painted in so long, because whenever I do I know I'll have a real war with myself over when is a good time to take a break...

So now it really is a lucky bamboo plant isn't it? :D

I sure hope so! It's had a massive pruning, pretty much chopped to bits, all the tops sealed with candle wax... so we'll see if it sends out new roots. If it does, than the bamboo plant itself is the lucky one :)

Animals have a general rule by which you can predict their needs and behaviours. Objects are objects. And people are confusing. I know my cats need food, water and a clean place to poop, and as long as noone treats them poorly, they remain the beautiful loving creatures that they are. If our younges...
