I went to a special school from 5th to 11th grade. I'm actually doing better and am happier in public school. But I suspect this is one of those things that depend on the person and the school.

I feel the same way. As a matter of fact, I would probably enjoy such a tour myself. (As much as you could "enjoy" such a morbid, depressing thing.)

This is pretty much what I was going to say.

When, how, and what tone of voice a person uses when they are talking = everything. Language and socialization are tricky like that.
