If possible, I'll communicate with text rather than verbally, which allows me time to gather my thoughts and keep the focus where I think it needs to be. My theory is that if I can maximize brevity and clarity in a few written words, then harmony and efficiency will prevail. I seem to cling to this ... |

No point in opening up a pro- or con- debate about Elon Musk, but FWIW, this just-released Project Veritas video captures an anti-Musk Twitter exec trashing Elon for being a weirdo with Asperger's. So, whatever your opinion, this qualifies as a bit of "Aspies in the news and popular culture&quo... |

Oh, FWIW, I've heard the term "weaponized autism" tossed around in respect for the special ability of people presumed (rightly or wrongly) to be "on the spectrum", and thus particularly useful in correlating disparate data and discovering relevant patterns. |

For what it's worth (not citing this as being a slam-dunk revelation, just food for thought), that Temple Grandin biopic ( link ) made the point that her brain was somehow optimized to "think in pictures", and this gave her a particular ability to analyze and resolve a certain class of pro... |

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo artist to draw eyes on my eyelids. Then I can close my eyes and look directly at people, and it will crate the psychological impression of eye contact without actually making eye contact. Good idea, huh? Perhaps more seriously, sunglasses are an option. Sometimes I w... |

I'm skeptical of any "diagnosis". Seems to me we've got to figure out our personal "owner's manual" as we go along, and it's a terribly painful process, but there's no other way. I found it useful to discover that autism was "a thing", in that it allowed for a possible ... |

I'm thinking of opening a new franchise of restaurants for single people who eat alone. So instead of tables, the dining hall will just have a bunch of sinks for people to hold their food over while they eat. Anyone wanna invest? |

I heard Alex Plank being interviewed on the radio. I was in mid-life and had always been pretty much a social outlier, which was very frustrating but it didn't seem there was anything I could do about it. I wondered what was wrong with me. Then there was some incident where some nut had shot a coupl... |

I've wondered how common this is. I tend not to recognize faces, yes, perhaps because I tend not to look at faces. I recognize people more readily in in contexts, when they're in an identifiable place or situation. But if I encounter someone on the street and they say hello, I may wrack my brain to ... |
