I relate to this story a lot right now. I decided to not address getting accommodations for now. I keep a regular schedule with my doctors so if I need something addressed, I can ask the doctor to make the recommendation. Thankfully, nothing has arisen that needed a doctor's letter yet. Even if not ...

Wow! I'm sorry to hear of your circumstances, but know it can get better. Do move out/away somehow, and soon. Consider calling the hostels (hostelworld.com, hostels.com) for some short terms stays, and regroup your thoughts with your partner, who must decide to leave their mother to fend for herself...

I agree about feeling alone, its power, and how we can ruminate our thoughts faster than we can find something to do with ourselves. At the moment, I'm home, on my own, knowing I should be in bed, but somehow awake seeking someone to talk to. Here's what helps me some. 1) Always acknowledge that man...

Another few ideas if they help. Jobs that you can telecommute with fewer societal stresses is important. 1) Medical Transcriptionist - Never a shortage of medical paperwork tasks that need done as boomers reach retirement. 2) Assist Accountants and Lawyers - They always have side work they don't hav...

I concur with many suggestions. I get bad eye twitching with too much caffeine. For what it's worth, here's some ideas. 1) Go to natural sources. Black and green teas and coffee are most common, but there are others too. 2) Avoid "commercialized" caffeine such as energy drinks. 3) Avoid caffeine aft...

Read up about melanin. Skin pigmentation varies with melanin concentrations in the skin. Melanin helps protect the skin from ultraviolet radiation, so sunlight exposure can be an influential factor.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. My many hobbies occupy me almost too much sometimes. How to drop them on behalf of social activities is challenging, as we can all relate. But at least I haven't set up my extra 5 aquariums yet! Truly! That hobby was huge, but slowed down a lot in favor of others. I'...

Your son sounds like me! I read non-fiction like crazy. Over 10 periodical subscriptions plus the newspaper for example. If I have any worthy advice, it is to keep feeding your son's passions, but introduce social activity in relation to those passions. For example, if the passion is aquarium fish, ...

Welcome. I just joined too. I'm going on 33 in May, still alone and single, and only one relationship in life so far. In that one, She got my sense of humor, which was critically important. Other stresses compounded to the point we broke up. But there are genious women that want men that can think a...

My first reply since my new post since I just joined. So pardon if this doesn't post right. But dang is loneliness powerful. It's my greatest challenge. Hang in there because it is not permanent. Learning to jump out faster, usually through a joyful contact or two with people that know you, does wor...

Hi there, As my first post, but this is where I'll start. At 32, I have many stories, as we all do, regarding challenges being on the Autism Spectrum. While knowing in my heart, somehow, that I thought differently than others, I pursued what I loved and cared about regardless of peers' opinions. Tha...
