I am always late for things. I resent having to be anywhere at a certain time but for sure, I'd rarely go anywhere if that weren't the case. I am usually late because I get caught up in doing things to entertain my head, which amounts to stimming for me. Often I am late because things don't go smoot...

I don't want to lessen your distress over this but I can't tell you how relieved I am to find someone else going through this too. I am 52. In the past year or so I just can't seem to find the time, energy, brain power, memory to attend to tasks. It isn't the lists. I've made lists my whole life. Ev...

So .... did you get the diagnosis? What you did is what I've been tempted to do. I just don't know if I can take being invalidated by yet one more person because they don't have a knowledge of what autism looks like in adult women. Sometimes, too, it would be nice to just have counseling with someon...

I seem to be incapable of thinking of something to do and then doing it. If I have free time, I will always resort to stimming (which in my case is anything having to do with words - usually ends up being online). Even if I want to make myself do something new, I can't think of anything. Now I have ...

mseclectic, I can see your point of view, even though I'd be tempted to ask you if you really are a hurtful person due to your AS, because I doubt it. In my case, however, it's not because I'm hurtful. It's discrimination of those who don't look in the eye, don't smalltalk, don't grasp the unsaid, ...

Perhaps she was only following instructions. Government agencies are notorious for being ignorant but even higher up, there is some body of uneducated, self-serving idiots making decisions about policy. Maybe whoever sources their funding has a stipulation that they only serve clients suffering from...

I'm a 57YO woman and I know I'm an Aspie, but I've never been evaluated. I've heard it's expensive. Does it have to be expensive? Is there a way of getting evaluated inexpensively? I am in the same place and I didn't know they were expensive. I just can't find anyone to evaluate an adult. Someone s...
