I've been trying to notice this more, but I'm still having a lot of trouble with it. I get really agitated when I'm either cold, hot, or in various states of discomfort (like having to use the restroom). I don't notice this until I'm already upset, and was wondering if anyone has found a successful ...

Ritalin was ineffective, but Adderal seems to help with the lack of executive functioning due to a self inflicted frontal lobe injury I obtained as a child, as well as having an electrically hyperactive brain. I banged my head incredibly hard and very often when I was distressed as a child. I would ...

::side steps drama:: No. I see it more as an operating system problem. You have the correct hardware, but maybe the software works a little differently. Autistic people are more left brain, not more brain damaged. The only brain damage I have was from after I was autistic - from banging my head with...

For about 20 years (before that I couldn't dress myself) I had very particular tastes in clothing. It cannot be itchy, like wool, or some fake materials. If it's going to be worn during the winter, the material has to be incredible soft so I can sweat in it, and not get itchy. I remove all the tags ...

For my specific situation, disclosing this initially worked to my advantage. The reason is because I received a reply from an employer that was very understanding regarding these types of issues. Since I started work at the company, effective communication regarding my issues has been very beneficia...

Boobs.

Boobs to you.

Lots of them.

Big ones too!

Also, screw hard wood flooring. I'd rather a faux-hawk any day.

My boyfriend and I moved into our apartment in June. The apartment is beautiful, and now that I'm employed, we have wonderful plans to redecorate with beautiful earth tones and nature elements, but we have one problem. That problem is our other roommate. She is loud and dirty mouthed, to the point w...

Well, if social anxiety is getting in the way of you working, you may want to consider different types of jobs. The warehouse position sounds good, and you may want to look into general admin work, too. I recently put out a post on a local job board stating, "Autistic Individual Seeking [xxxxx] Posi...

My worst job was at call center inside a health insurance company. I had two anxiety induced seizures at work even before I got on the phone. Then once I got on the phone, I was hospitalized in a psych unit twice from the emotional stress. I still can't answer phones without that panic reaction firs...

Last night was for celebrating. I am "trying out" a position for data entry and verification instead of an interview tomorrow starting at 10:00 a.m. This was from the only legitimate response I got from this ad. I know I'll do well with this position, so I'm really hopeful it will end up being gainf...

I've been applying to jobs day in and day out for the past month. I've had two interviews that have gone horribly awkward. No matter how I score on the tests, it doesn't make up for the complete lack of social prowess, and the notable tic I have in my neck. So I decided to be honest in a resume post...

I find them endlessly annoying. I will stop communicating with people who type like this.

As far as using "wat" instead of "what", I am curious to find out what their right hand is really doing, since they couldn't be bothered to make the effort to type out the letter "h".

I am incredibly flexible because I spent a lot of time as a child laying on the floor and stretching myself into different positions. I found it more entertaining and less over stimulating than social interaction. I have relatively well developed muscles in my upper abdomen and arms because those ar...
