I am in the same field. Very tough. Have you tried substitute teaching if you have a 4 year degree. Its a job that you can do while you look for another one. That is why I am doing. The 1000 CVs will not change for a couple of years. Where I used to live in Southern California there was a custodian ...

I worked some service jobs. They maxed and stressed me out but I needed a job or at least pretend I want money. They discouraged my work ethic early on and I grew a resentment towards employment. Employers require multitasking because people can do it and are willing to do it for dirt cheap. THerefo...

I hear and share your frustrations everyone. For me personally it has got to the point where I have motivational issues just to apply over and over again trying to find anyone who will pay me. I read some books in college and the book is called "Good to Great". Basically someone studies companies th...

It is humiliating but this is really a 1930's style depression in the works. The U3 statistical records the government used to record unemployment back in the 30s is 17% today ... not 9.7%! If you run out of benefits you are counted as employed. It is really a once in a 70 year event right now. I mo...

My family mentioned to me I should disclose this yet I do not want to provide a weakness and a potient liability to an employer. Did you use it as an advantage? I guess I am wondering how you worded it and I wonder if anyone else had any luck to this. Do companies hire people with disabilities to qu...

I had a similar discussion with my wife hoping an advanced degree would help me find work. Basically, you will be both over and under qualified at the same time. :-( Employers want experience and a 4 year degree simply means you have an average I.Q. and are trainable unlike the other highschool drop...

We are in a severe depression/recession and if you lose your job you may not find work again for a very long long time. You need to get an official diagnoses if you want legal protection. The employer could tell the court you made everything about AS up and they had no clue whether you have it and t...
