This may sound like odd advice, but I suggest you stop trying to get a girlfriend and instead focus on making yourself happy. Do not succumb to social pressures which tell you getting a girlfriend is some kind of right of passage. If you feel you aren't meeting society's (in my opinion lame) standa...

You may wish to reconsider that attitude -- you're not "better" than a person with a cognitive disability. All else aside, the fact that individuals with disabilities are able to find love online is a good thing. Seeing as you've got a disability and are looking for love online. I'm not s...

Honestly that would be the last thing I would want (mail order bride). It just wouldn't feel right to me. It's not REAL. In fact I think it would end up just being a waste of time and money on top of the "no feelings." I definitely don't want to rush into anything either but man I just don...

1. Never done the Tinder thing, so can't speak to that but have had luck w/OKC and POF. I tended to take a few months break if I wasn't having any luck and then start a NEW profile, ie not just updating the old one. The "system" remembers whose contacted whom in the past, so the new profi...

A few thoughts: 1. Have you had a friend take a look at your profiles? The photos, the text, etc., a little editing/polishing/picking of a more flattering photo can make all the difference in the world. 2. Love isn't a zero-sum game. The fact that your friends are coupled up in no way, shape or for...

I know it isn't the worst thing but on days like today when I talked to a few buddies throughout the week and asked them what they were up to over the weekend and it's: "Oh my girlfriend and I..." I understand, I'd want to as well but it just seems like it's every time so then I'm stuck do...

I just needed to write my thoughts down and since I don't go to a therapist and don't have anyone else to talk to about it, I wanted someone else to give me feedback. I've been on WP for about 5 years now and I've had many posts on the same topic. People who recognize my name are probably sick of th...

I am not sure if you want female company or not, I didn't understand. If you don't want it, just don't give a damn about what your family says. If you want it, try to find it. What's wrong with the 19 years old friend of your sister, if I can ask? Why wouldn't you be interested in her? It's my sist...

You have to accept the idea that you'll never find love. Instead of pitying yourself, try to fight your sadness in a constructive way. Eat healthily, be physically active, pick up a new sport, learn a foreign language, play video games, take long walks outside etc. Do whatever makes you happy, prov...

I'm just depressed at this point. I honestly feel I will never figure this out. I have not 1 friend of the female kind and now my family is interfering. On "accident" my sister said something to one of her friends and now some random 19 year old girl is adding me on Facebook. She's not som...

In response to Cate: 1. I know I act normal than others. A couple friends act like little kids around others. I'm more serious but I have my fun. Now around girls, I don't think we have talked about that. 3. Nothing's happened to tarnish my reputation or anything. In fact, I've got as clean as a sla...

Okay. I've figured out something. I don't know what it is but I know something's wrong. For some reason there is something about me that makes the ladies run and the issue is... I don't know what it is? So my buddy T was having a cookout today and a bunch of people came. Some I've never met and othe...

Stargazer, if you have an example that would be appreciated. The thing is though I have already asked friends to help me out with this and I've seemingly done all those things the right way as some of my friends had me setup my profile like they did and they have been successful. Dodger, I'm definit...

I have two comments from someone who has been in a similar situation. The first is: you mention that you stayed in all weekend watching racing because you didn't have anyone to hang out with. My best advice would be to learn how to do things on your own...don't let a lack of a friend hinder you fro...

I need a ton of help. Halfway through my 23rd year on this planet, I'm at a pivotal point in my life. A lot of things are going right for me. I have a new car, a state job and financial security. I am virtually independent outside of still being at home to save up and sometimes my mother cooks and c...

I think it's inevitable that I will always be lonely. I'll have my buddies to remain sane but it's just hard to imagine ever having a girl in my life. Seriously even if I did at this point, I wouldn't know what to do and probably would screw up not long after.
