Society teaches us to be insecure, that if we're not a size 0 that there is something wrong with us. I don't ask my bf if I'm fat, cause I know that I am (or at least bigger than I was pre-baby). I want constant reassurance that I am pretty. Women think people are more critical than they really are,...

I will say that it is challenging, even down right frustrating at times.
Children on the spectrum learn differently than other children, and sometimes don't grasp concepts like nt children do. But when they do get it, you feel like the best parent in the world |

He'll go at familiar places, but those are homes, like my bf's house, my brother's, my best friend's. I hope he doesn't get naked when he is at a public restroom, I don't think that he does. But I have kinda always been the same way. I'm picky about where I do that, I don't like going at public rest...

Hi, long time no see. I think that the last time that I was here, I was pregnant, and reaching out wanting comfort. When your first child has autism, you always have that in the back of your head. Your first pregnancy, (or when I had my oldest) autism doesn't come to mind, you're always worried abou...

DW, I knew you'd understand <3 to you gal. With my first child, we were scared of epiglottitis, as his father was almost killed by it when he was two. I didn't think of autism, cause well, that was one of those things that happen to other people's children, not mine. But this child has a different f...

I know I haven't been on in a while. My DS got promoted to first grade, he really seems to like this school year better than last year already, I hope the trend continues. :D I'm pregnant with child #2 now, just found out last week, we're very excited, a different father than my DS. I'm pretty nervo...

* Reminder for me, teacher needs to take his homework out of his bookbag, and make sure he has his homework assignment in his bookbag by the end of the day, and check mark daily so I know that it has been turned in.

Well, it's that time of year again. Time for the IEP. Last time it went pretty bad, there was a good bit of yelling and harsh words, and that wasn't from me, it was from the principal. The main stream teacher hasn't been telling me a whole lot about my son in class, so I really don't know what he ne...

Well, all of my friends and family will tell you, I'm about the furthest thing from strict that you can get, well just about. I pick and choose my battles with him, I try to use humor to de-escalate and lighten situations, and to distract my DS. Not that I've always let my DS do whatever he wants to...

I talked a bit more to my DS since he came home from school. He said that the boy came to him, and that he spit, DS said he wanted to make him go away. That the boy wasn't picking on him, calling him names, or anything I can think of down the list.

I had asked DS about everything, did he hit, kick, slap, punch, push, spit on you first, no to each.
I wasn't told what was going on when it happened, just that it happened. |

I went to the school immediately, the principal was very calm about it, he was good. He handled the situation alot better than I would. Now what do I do? I need... |

If the girl, her house, and parents stay that close, how hard would it be for your parents to walk over there and get to know them? I could understand not staying the first night, but if these girls want to be firends, your parents should try to get to know the other girls parents. Just my opinion.

I'm not diagnosed anything, so my view might as well be from a NT standpoint, but HS for me, for lack of a better word, was hell.

I myself, I feel I have alot of traits of Aspergers, if I don't have it, but I'm 28 now, and just not trying to go through the hassle of getting diagnosed. But me, I was always a target for the bullies, I excelled in music (I was in all district band twice, and had a chance to go All-State), I was a...
