I usually stick to things like I am introverted, shy, like my privacy, like to work alone etc. exactly because unlike Autism/Aspergers these labels are well understood. This is known as disclosing the symptoms or disclosing the traits. I've done this but it feels inauthentic and like I'm hiding som...

Last week I was prescribed hydroxyzine for anxiety and the stuff simply knocked me out. Even at a very low dose I couldn't function. Can you go even lower? I dilute some meds to ridiculous amounts because I'm sensitive. A drop of coffee will blast me off for hours. Sounds like it might be a good sl...

Growing up autistic sucks. How well I know that. I'll be 53 soon. I didn't even know I was autistic at 23 but was so lonely and screwed up. If I knew then what I know now... Such calamities could have been avoided and such better things could have happened. But the good news is I feel good enough no...

I took metoprolol, a beta blocker, for anxiety and it worked great. The weird thing is when you take it for an anxiety provoking situation once or twice after that you don't feel anxiety in that situation. I think autistic anxiety in social situations and crowds is a reasonable and intelligent reac...

Like soylent cola, it varies from person to person.

A person doesn't need to be attractive to most people, only to enough to give choices.

Direct might be good. It's simpler and makes more sense for those of us who are good at subtlety. Maybe "I like you and would like to spend more time with you. Could we go on a date." Wait as long as it takes for her response. It does seem overwhelming and thoughts of what if rejection can...

For attracting women

Dr Burns book Intimate Connections is the way to go.

Strongly recommend his book Feeling Good Together which basically has step by step instructions for having a conversation that the other person will appreciate. A real eye opener.

Breakups suck, being stuck sucks. It can seem so hopeless and the loss so complete. I'm sorry you're caught up in this right now. I almost never ask for help (big surprise) or if I do it's only from the depths of despair (jk I suffer alone 99.9%) so I'm impressed you're showing skill and maturity he...

I've been in tech for almost 20 years and have met a few Aspie candidates but rarely do I see someone I think is more out there than me -- and I think I'm passing -- with the occasional shocking/embarrassing faux pas. It's disappointing really. I've been to a GRASP meeting and met some more outwardl...
