I'm lonely, lonely like tearing me apart lonely, trying to stay sane lonely, barely holding on lonely. My roommates phone keeps going off in the background. Been months since anyone other than her has texted or called me. Been that way for a long time now. I try and meet people but when I do I don't...

On the first session, bout 40 minutes in with one of my therapists, he told me he didn't think my problems were as big as I thought they were because I was doing such a great job talking with him. The only thing I had said to him the entire time was my name at the beginning of the session. I don't k...

Painted shortly before...

Unfortunately therapists are a big part of why I've gotten so frustrated recently. Since July when I was in the ER for being suicidal, Iv'e seen four different therapists. Within five minutes they were all assuming social anxiety disorder and after that nothing I said made any difference. So I took ...

The photos and explanations mostly make sense to me when I'm looking at them. In real time I can never catch any of it, there's more information than I can handle. If I try with someone I'm talking to, I'll lose track of the conversation and still not do very well. With just the pictures and no expl...

So I've been trying to improve my social abilities for the last few years(starting from dire) with no luck. I know not everyone is like this, but for me feeling alone hurts. And feeling alone all the time hurts all the time. So, about a month ago I was so frustrated that I just started isolating mys...

X=-1: I've been trying for almost 3 years to improve. I started by thinking this would be a matter of study, practice, and patience for me. Unfortunately I haven't found any sources to study. Without new information, I have nothing I new to practice, I'm stuck with the same skills that continue not ...

So people keep telling me I need to start meeting and talking to people to make friends. Even from my therapist all I get is "here have some pills, they'll make you more social" and "social anxiety, face your fear and you'll get over it." The problem is when I try and get out and meet and talk to pe...

Was wondering how others cope, maybe I'll find some helpful advice. I feel alone and isolated all the time and it's painful and it's tearing me apart me mentally. I try meeting people but my social skills are pretty nonexistant. Maybe if someone can advise on how to improve these skills. And I don't...

I do. I look at other people doing things and having relationships together and feel so isolated and alone. But I've been trying for years with a literal zero progress so I think it's something I will just never be able to understand or do.

It surprises me their are so many aspies who want a relationship. Still human. Most people (and other social animals) biologically need quality social interaction to survive. In my opinion (which I shall express, regardless of the risk of being burned alive) Aspies can fall into many categories; as...

Can firmly answer, at the age of 27, none of the above. No kissing, no relationships, no anything. And it's not a lack of interest on my part. I''ve had girls try to flirt with me often enough. Just most of the time it flys completely past me until hours or days or even months later. Not that it wou...

Am curious, trying to find these things in my own life. What keeps you going day to day? What motivates you? And I'm sorry, but please no "it beats the alternative" answers. Pretty please?? It sounds good, and if it's what works for you right now that's great, but someday you have to come up with so...

I'm envious of the people who post in here that they are ok with being alone. Unfortunately I don't seem to be one of them, no matter how hard I try. So it seems I need some advice. I have never made any friends in my life. I've had a few friends(8 or 9 in 27 years) but it's always been the other pe...
