Evan Marc Katz, really? This guy is a modern day snake oil salesman if there ever was one. His advice is patriarchal and misogynistic tripe, and does more harm than good. He's a so-called "dating guru" in his mind only. And if this article is any indication, he's clearly run out of things to write a...

Meh, I predict one day that Autism Speaks will end up in some sort Komen Foundation-like scandal (probably a few to several years down the road) since they are both pretty similar structure-wise.

Right, I was just under the impression at first that the "art, music, and writing" forum was for member's original work only.

Recently, I read "A Letter To Five Wives," a novel which was the source material for the 1949 golden-age classic "A Letter To Three Wives" It was one of those rare instances in which the film was better than the novel (director and writer Joseph Mankiewicz gave the characters some dimension and life...

I know it seems like a obvious question, but from the way the forums are set up, it's a bit confusing to figure out which one is supposed to be for discussion of books. Thanks.

I've already presented evidence that the organization has a three star rating from the CharityNavigator organization in the US. The link and information is provided in this thread. So? This is the same "organization" that gave the Susan G. Komen (for the cure) group (known for being conservative po...

I'm actually impressed that a real chemistry professor would accept anyone who treat chemicals that way. He should have been dragged into a burn ward in a hospital or be forced to talk to people who have lost their homes and belongings to arson. He showed that he had a barely fragmented and totally...

You had said something about families with money which I didn't quote and that reminded me of the one Kennedy girl that they put in the institution and did a lobotomy on. I cannot remember what was wrong with her, but that seems to be an example right there. With all the money and connections they ...

It's an article in an extremely prolific publication (one of the most well-known newspapers in the world) If one agrees to let themselves be portrayed in such a venue, you have to accept that you will invite some sort of criticism - be it good or bad. GMA and the NYT are two different media outlets ...

i have mixed feelings after reading the article. to me, they don't really sound happy together. I concur. Not impressed, doesn't sound like a very healthy relationship at all. The whole article sounds it was written because "my daddy's famous, and I want to be famous too" - and viola, a profile in ...

Only going into nursing if you really, really want to do it (a.k.a. don't do it just for earning potential) Depending on where you are, getting a job isn't any easier than any other field - healthcare in general is experiencing major financial difficulties as well. Nursing can be an extremely politi...

^^^ Moving costs money - those on the spectrum are usually in pretty dire financial straits. Plus, "those of us on the spectrum" need to have pretty strong personal networks - if we have to move someplace on our own where we know no one - yeah, that should go well. I'm I the only one smelling whiffs...

I really don't like articles like these, way too full of generalizations. 3. Take a pass on the personal stuff: marital status, religious preference and Social Security numbers. The problem with this is that a lot of applications (especially on-line ones) ask for it, and if you don't provide one, yo...

Huh, I've never understood the idea of being thrifty to the point of discomfort. If you have money, at least spend it responsibly. I don't have a lot of disposable income, but I try to do what I can with what I have. For example: buying organic/sustainable/less additive-laden food (which is pricier ...
