| I guess the female equivalent of an a**hole is a b*tch, and I have been called this on a couple of occasions for being an a**hole, if that makes sense. You see, when I'm going about my daily activities, people rarely approach me, and when they do I'm guessing I have this "don't f*** with me" attitud... |

"Get outta here, he ain't ARTISTIC! I mean he can sing but he doesn't draw or paint stuff!"
I remember my mom saying this when I told her about my son's autism diagnosis. She used to mispronounce autistic a whole lot, I used to chuckle whenever she said it. |

| "ASSBURGERS?! get outta here, ain't no such thing as assburgers or ARTISM!! !" - My mom, when I broke the news about me being an Aspie, and my son having Autism. Since then, I brought her tons of easy to read books and brochures and she seems accepting of it. |

Hello!
I live in the midwest, too....in illinois. my 10 year old son has autism; I am super sure that I'm an aspie, and I didn't come to that realization until last year. I totally fumbled through my 20's but the 30's look promising.
So, welcome and have fun! |

| seriously, you need to talk to a professional about your suicidal feelings. It's common for people to feel super depressed, but when you are constantly thinking about ending your life, it is extremely important to talk to someone, anyone. Life IS worth living, suicide is a permanent solution to a te... |

| I felt the same way for a long time, because I was socially awkward. I was straight up ignored, I was alone, always on the outside looking in. I have learned that it is so important to forgive myself and don't beat myself up for the mistakes I made. Just keep it moving and keep trying because tomorr... |

| These are NOT listed in order of greatness or importance, just off the top of my head that people have actually commented to me. 1. I'm a great listener. 2. I'm open minded. 3. I'm a good cook. 4. I keep a clean house. 5. I'm very responsible when it comes to paying my bills and handling my business... |

I often move my head a lot, "like someone with parkinson's". Really?! 2. When I'm ordering food at a restaurant, I always place my right index finger un... |

| I like to be alone, but it can get very lonely sometimes. I wish I could interact with others and have better friendships, but I'm very hot and cold. I'm selfish and aloof sometimes and I can't be that if I'm trying to make friends. |

| I worked in 1, 2, and 3. All before I realized I'm as Aspie as they get!! 1. I was a grill cook at a major fast food chain when I was 15. All the new girls got to work the cash register, why did they stick me on that hot a** grill?! Maybe the manager sensed something odd about me. I was chewed out o... |

| Now that I am at home I have tons of time to think back to all the years I was in the workforce, undiagnosed. Almost all of the jobs I had were intensely fast paced, required me to keep track of several things and required me to interact with the not so nice public and my co-workers. It was an actin... |

| I am sensitive to unexpected sounds, too. Like if I am out for a walk and I hear the bark of a dog, screeching brakes, the sound from a fire truck, or a loud bang I immediately sort of jump and my heart starts beating quickly. My house is quiet a great deal of the time, too, and I don't have company... |

| The truth is, people can't help what they like. Some people only date skinny chicks, only blondes, only girls with big rumps, and the fat chicks are not their preference. But as much as people don't like to admit it and as much as they like to make fun of fatties, there are many men and women that a... |

| If we're talking about a romantic relationship, then no, it's not really worth it. I tried the relationship thing, but I guess I'm not a relationship kind of girl. I'm not into talking about my feelings or talking in general, or public displays of affection or cuddling. I like my space in my bed and... |
