Seeing that its a back against the wall situation, just get a minimum wage paying job and find people who you can rent an apartment with. You don't have to be friends with your roommates, you just have to get along.

It's intriguing to see that being more stilted and tense seems to be an attribute in a fair number of people with AS, I mean everyone that felt they had something to add to this post goes through this to varying degrees. Myself, I always am almost paralyzed it feels like when I hang out, like I talk...

For years now I have always had a markedly tense neck and shoulders, as well as the rest of my body being tense, to the point that people comment on it when I'm hanging out or working (customers, i'm a cashier at a grocery store atm). I don't have an injury, so I can only venture to guess that the c...

Hi everyone, I was curious if any of you have read through or have heard of any cogent, comprehensive, insightful books on or including large chunks of information on adhd-pi or sluggish cognitive tempo. I have aspergers, but also estimate that I have these conditions as well, which are imho a much ...

I just discovered that I have likely had aspergers and adhd all of my life this past spring semester, and have been scrambling to try and start making sense of my life to this point, and I am doing pretty good right now, atleast with my health. I started engaging in a lot of healthy habits (exercise...

Just a quick question for some fellow aspies, does anyone else get the feeling that concentrating and mustering a high level of brainpower, like when you have to remember many things and work with them in your head, is impossible to do without significantly increasing stress/anxiety levels?

I've been reading up about adhd-pi lately, and a few times I ran across claims and studies that suggest that sleep disorders frequently coincide with adhd and adhd-pi. Not only does this impeded sleep excaserbate the adhd, but it can cause a lot of the symptoms in and of itself. They actually found ...

Biofeedback can be useful, but it's not a magic bullet. It may be marginally helpful for ADHD, but I don't think that it's ideal for ADHD treatment. What it probably works better for is things like anxiety disorders. In the case of an anxiety disorder, if you can learn to relax your muscles, slow y...

Biofeedback is a method to help people deal with stress by training them to recognize it. Biofeedback isn't intended for ADHD or ADD. It can help deal with stress associated with the symptoms by not the symptoms themselves. I am going to a biofeedback program this upcoming fall. I cannot recognize ...

You have to be your own biofeedback monitor. Thanks for the link, I actually started playing dual n back through lumosity daily because... |

I am “socially” diagnosed with Aspergers (my psychologist, as well as parents and close friends/brother have all determined this, as well as myself, since I exhibit every symptom just about) and self-diagnosed with inattentive add, and while my symptoms can be debilitating at times, I want to treat ...

Brolife, There are lots of self help books that are possibilities. I went on Amazon and like the looks of this one...very high number of 5-star reviews. I may get it myself... While I’m relieved that there is an explanation for all of the ways in which I’m developmentally stunted, it doe...

I observed about myself that I don't lack the capacity to elicit brainpower, but I find that its hard to "get my engine going" so to speak. Once I'm in a thinking mode, I can think lucidly, insightfully, and creatively, but these instances seldom happen, and most of the time its very hard to start o...
