I guess if it wasn't so hard to move on I would have by now, maybe it's not really possible to repair a relationship in which I'm so profoundly incompetent. Am I compliant? I would say... no, for the most part they are very passive with me they aren't really involved in my life that much anymore. Th...

Video games. Some like World of Warcraft never finish so you can log on and always find something to do. Probably why I've played it since 2008. Also, any kind of art project if you have or can afford the materials. Every time I have excess money I buy a lot of art supplies because they essentially ...

You've already survived one, so there is that. Also in your country is there any benefit to being diagnosed? In mine there is not, and I kinda regret it being on my permanent record. If there is an option to keep the result private you may just get diagnosed for your own peace of mind.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has had the experience(s) of being punished socially... like, not just regular bullying or ostracizing(being pushed out of a group) but actual punishment... example: Since I'm not good at explaining stuff, here's an example of being punished socially, your own famil...

I am seconding the advice to hire someone to clean periodically. She obviously has a huge problem with being able to keep up with her part of the housework. I know for myself and my Aspie hubby housework was the major source of arguments for years before we finally shared it more equally. Just assig...

It seems that no one here has a monopoly on bleak and painful childhoods. What can we do to keep this from happening again? How can we recognize someone in need, and approach them without making things worse? Excellent questions. I can only imagine that an evolution of the human race towards unity ...

To be told essentially that you have a disorder that is life-long and will always trouble you and keep you distanced from those closest to you and you can't share how you feel with anyone.... I feel that way every day, some days worse than others. Somehow I can forget for a while and enjoy some of t...

I'm so glad I worked today, Easter Sunday. If I didn't get to go to work I wouldn't have done anything at all but stare at my Facebook page filled with all the happy families celebrating Easter. Everything is closed around me and I can't get any food for supper unless it's at the convenience store. ...

Hmm, well hubby and I do these parallel activities kraftiekortie mentioned.... All day every day. Our "together time" is in the bed haha sorry joking aside... I think I care more about how he looks after the house and how often he cooks, remembers to take out the trash, tells me what he di...

I have great trouble tolerating physical discomfort, even something as mild as having to go pee while I'm trying to do something else is irritating. I never really get used to anything. Sometimes my clothes piss me off and I have to get home and completely strip naked to find some relief then I'm co...

I love using chopsticks and try to eat dishes that require them as often as possible. I tend to press the tip of my nose against my upper lip... it looks like I'm thinking, hopefully. I get fixated on certain beverages for long periods of time, the latest was Sprite now it's Sanpellegrino sodas, esp...

Some jobs you can get with your degree may suit you: Forensic science technician, US postal inspector, security guard (work by yourself usually or in teams but you're split up to watch different parts of the building), and fish and game warden (not most ideal since you will have to confront illegal ...

I'd just like to say that I remember how glad you were to get the job you are in now and it saddens me that it turned out to not be a good fit. I also worked at a long-term care facility where I was a nurses' aide-- I was studying to be a doctor (which I'm still pursuing, I'll be a pathologist in ab...

It sounds like you're under a lot of stress right now and your emotions are at the surface. I would take care to be kind to yourself, eat healthy, exercise, etc. You may find it relieves the tension that is making you have more meltdowns (if they are, it sounds more like emotions than meltdowns to m...

I think somehow most people missed your point that you were able to correctly respond to your children, thus increasing the effectiveness of your teaching. I didn't and I commend you for your efforts, if I ever had children I would hope that I could respond as a fellow autistic to them as well, so t...
