My doctor recently put me on Wellbutrin at my own asking and it took away that crippling emptiness I've been feeling. I'm laughing more, I'm less irritable, and sleep is just so restful for me now. However, I can't seem to find anything engaging. I get excited about an idea, but when I actually do i...

I have bipolar type ii. The last two months I thought I had made some sort of breakthrough. It was the longest period of time I was feeling great in a long time. I was productive, I was able to wake up with my alarm at 6am every morning, had tons of energy, got a lot of projects done, etc. Then, one...

My two biggest issues with being bipolar are : getting enough sleep and the need for constant stimulation. If I don't get constant stimulation, I get bored, then severely depressed. Like right now, I'm typing this on a second monitor while I'm playing a video game. I always have at least 6 or 7 brow...

I'll often have a hard time coming up with my own solutions, let alone choosing from a set of possible solutions. This is another big one. If I am given too many choices or ways of doing something, I cannot make up my mind. Ask me if I want a hotdog or a hamburger and I can answer right away. Take ...

I'm open to the point where I don't lie about having disabilities, but I don't go out of my way to let people know. Having more than just Asperger's, I feel like people might think I'm making it up and suffer from 'special snowflake syndrome', so I usually just mention which disability is relevant a...

Yes, this is the same for me. It is figuring out some new concept that is difficult.

I am starting to realize that I do better when I am being told what to do or walked through a task. When left to figure things out on my own, I usually take a brute force approach, which is highly inefficient. I am taking some online computer science classes and I can understand the syntax of any pr...

Stuff like this scares the s**t out of me. I'm unable to drive, which means it's not possible for me to go someplace to work. I have to live with my parents too. Not only am I aspie, but I'm bipolar, have anxiety, adhd, and ocd. I never know if I'm going to wake up after 6 hours of sleep ready to ta...

Yes. Their goal is to develop prenatal testing for autism so parents can choose to abort autistic children. Which is why my mother supports them. She wishes she had been given the option of knowing I would be "like that" instead of the kid she wanted. While I think it's messed up that your mother w...

That thing looks amazing. I'd love to have that strap. I have some questions:

- Did you take a Steve Vai Ibanez and mod it?
- The middle pickup looks unique. Is it some sort of piezo?
- Next to the pickup selector switch seems to be another toggle switch. Coil tap?

Wish I could hear it!

I'm actually discussing the particular situation over in the appropriate forum on the site. Thank you though.

Now, let's say we take the loss of a parent completely out of the picture and pretend it never happened, here's what troubles me: What evidence or signs/signals are you getting that leads you to believe her friend is trying to split you up? Or is this simply an irrational product of depression? If ...

I'm on Haldol for my intrusive thoughts and it works for every day stuff, but for what I'm dealing with right now, it's not doing anything. Maybe my doctor will increase my dose for a while.

I'm currently going through a tough time and I don't understand the situation or why it's happening. It makes me confused, scared, and my stomach is tied in knots. This is probably the worst I've felt when I don't understand something, but I was wondering if this is normal of people with ASD? Normal...

A little back story. My fiancee and I live with my parents. I'm unable to drive so it makes being dependent very hard. Until about two months ago, I had been struggling with a lot of my own problems being aspie, anxiety-ridden, bipolar, and some other crap. My fiancee has been very understanding of ...

do you have a programming environment where you can muck around and try ideas without worrying about anyone else seeing? Yes, I have environments in both Windows and Linux where I can program in Python, C/C++, and Haskell (I am currently only using Python so as to not get overwhelmed with syntax). ...
