Your brother sounds uncannily similar to me in many ways, and I think I probably have AS, but OTOH there are some AS tendencies I don't identify with so much. I would say he's at least Aspie-ish if not a true Aspie.

My favorite bumper sticker is "Honk if you can tell the difference between sarcasm and irony!" ...But getting back to the original question-- I find that I sometimes have trouble 'switching gears' when it comes to sarcasm and irony. Not sure exactly how to explain it, but if I'm in a certain mindset...

I've been mistaken for Russian by Russian immigrants here, although I am 1/4 Russian (Belorussian to be specific) and another 1/4 Polish by ancestry. A few people have said it's not just the Slavic facial features, but that I have the gait and countenance of a Russian. It's never happened to anyone ...
