| Want to see some positivity? Post some. That simple. Want to avoid negativity? Don't read those posts--and it's not too hard to decipher which ones they are before diving into them. I just find it refreshing that everyone gets to state their opinion, no matter what side of an equation they're on. ^... |

| In elementary school I was one of the worst students in my class despite the fact that I did well on tests and evaluations. I did poorly because I was bored with my schoolwork and had no motivation to do well. Then in middle school, my grandparents promised me that if I did well they would reward m... |

| My thoughts on this are slowly changing... When I first came here...I was filled with the revelatory idea that 'this explains everything!' but since I am very high functioning and don't need any official help of any sort, I was going to pass on even trying to get a diagnosis at 42. While I still mig... |

| It took me ages....(i am 42).....and while I can't stop -caring- about things like this....I have figured out not to show that to others. It never helps the situation...they dont learn, or care more because they find out it bothers others....and it just targets me as 'victimizable'. So I might be de... |

Maybe she just wants someone to be able to talk to, that isn't related to her getting a benefit she doesn't want.
Rather then trying to label, someone to just understand and help teach her to cope with her brain's differences would be a great thing. |

| I pick at things too.. I finally healed a spot on my pinkie finger that I had been picking at for -TWO YEARS-. Every time it would get close to healing, i would pick at it and it would re-bleed and then start the whole cycle again. One large step in fixing it, was 'DO NOT ALLOW MYSELF TO HAVE DRY SK... |

Just something about how its written perhaps, or that the experiences of all the women she draws on are more l... |

| When it's bad I head for the nearest body of water...even if that means the bathtub. This. It was one of the criteria when I selected the current apartment. Lake Washington is a block or so away. But the bathtub is my daily retreat. at work if I need a moment or ten, I do also hide in the bathroom.... |
