I can generally have conversation with coworkers of any gender assuming they're nice (and patient) enough to tolerate (or find humorous) my social awkwardness. It's been a very long time since I've been friends with anyone. I don't know how I managed to get married.

I don't mind it. New situations with new people tend to confuse me, so it's nice to have someone to rely on.

NTs have a hard time grasping the concept that Asperger's isn't an illness and that there isn't a 'cure'. We can emulate the behaviors of NTs, sometimes well enough to pass for NT, but we will never actually become NT.

"I'm just a shy frightened freak who is on nobody's wavelength." You're not a freak. If Asperger's Syndrome is really so debilitating, then why can so many people elude diagnosis until their 50s? Being socially awkward isn't a death sentence. It just means you're a little awkward. Some NTs are attra...

Thank you
It's funny, I only started getting into abstracts with Photoshop. Before that I would pick a photo out of a magazine to draw and use pencil or colored pencil. I never liked paints or pastel, too finicky and messy to work with. |

I've spent many years working on abstract art and digital photography. Although I don't work in these areas professionally, I do have a graphic design degree and consider myself an expert in the subject. My attention has shifted to other things lately so I don't produce new artwork very often... but...

I've felt this too. I think it stems from the fact that we have random obsessions in lieu of a social life. When we meet someone who is better at our random obsessions AND has a social life, we feel inadequate in comparison. Personal example: nearly every member of my family is a gifted musician. My...

Agree with above, this isn't circular reasoning. I'm not convinced there's reasoning in there at all. People who don't want to be labeled made up a label for themselves? They can call themselves whatever they want, the rest of us will know to file them under 'idiots.'

I would be unbelievably rich if I could put my intellect and focus to productive use. Alas, I'm stuck obsessing over things that cost money instead of generating it.

It could be denial... finding fault in everything and everyone to distract attention away from the fact that you're afraid of the world. It could be that you're not above an honest day's labor, you're just afraid of the unknowns associated with it. Staying at home will always feel safe and comfortab...

Me--I'm a tortoise. If anybody bugs me, I just ignore them and become a very boring and unappetizing rock. I do that. It's effective as long as you don't want to or don't need to develop a relationship with that person. It doesn't work very well when you're in the occasional marital spat and your w...

Meaning in dreams doesn't have to be supernatural. If dreams are a byproduct of the brain sorting out information, then it seems reasonable that an interpretation could be made. I don't think there's much information to be gained from the average random dream. Recurring nightmares are a different st...

No, I do not think so. Almost all people rank themselves as "above average" on the different obviously positive traits. Yup, it's called Illusory superiority. There's also the bias blind spot, where the average person will rate themselves less susceptible to bias than the average. Which makes you w...

If I could, I'd take all of the ignorant people in the world and transport each of them to their own individual dream world. It would be a world in which they would play the role of God and would be able to do everything they pleased. When everything ended in disaster they would have only themselve...
