Agreed. Also, it's a form of fiction, which I can't stand. Used to like it, but that was when I was a child and I've now moved on to other aspects of Asian culture. |

In general, I find it easier to get along with people outside of my race... this might have something to do with me being into Asian culture, and the fact that other white people just don't get it. I don't feel particularly "white" either, I'd rather be considered Asian because I feel I can relate b...

If it weren't for the teacher I have, I'd really enjoy Chemistry class... but he really gives me the creeps due to a rumour that's been making its way through the school ever since my first year there. Basically the rumour is that he's a pedophile with a high school girl fetish, and while I'm trying...

I get mine chemically straightened every 6 months and love it, and always get told that I have beautiful hair (it was frizzy, unmanageable and a nightmare to brush before). A perm might work too if your hair is of the limp, straight type... they put the same type of cream in your hair for both, and ...

Also, most of them are white, at least the ones who actually are diagnosed, and I'm not attracted to men of my own race at all (no offense, and don't hate me). While this does complicate things (I don't recall the Australian demographic, but I believe it's mostly white? Correct me if I'm wrong thou...

I tend to dislike guys on the spectrum as their behaviour is really unattractive I'll instantly be teased and mocked due to the stereotype of the loser who doesn't know how to act... What's a lonely girl to do? Eyeroll all you want. I'm trying to break out of this behaviour and dating a guy ...

Where do I start? I'm 18, lonely and seeking romance, but would not be considered "pretty" at all and am quite shy. I'm only really mildly affected by my diagnosis as I don't do any of that stimming stuff, know when the wrong and right times are to say certain things and use words such as "sweet" an...

It's gotten to the point that I can't tell anymore. I like one thing one week and hate it the next. That's orobably where most of my problems lie. |

For the past few weeks, I feel my life's become completely meaningless and has no purpose since I don't know what to do. University's approaching rapidly and I can't decide what I want to do with my future, and am getting really depressed just thinking about the idea that I'm going to pick a degree,...

No. From my experience, once you tell someone about your diagnosis, they stop seeing you for who you are and judge you based on stereotypes of the condition, and patronise you.

I've done a full 180 on my previous obsession (I hate the term "special interest" because it's so patronising and condition-specific) and am now literally bored to tears by it and want to forget about it. Yet my family don't want to let me lose it, because I studied the Japanese language for years a...

Ah, well, this is what bugs me in summer. I don't really have a lot of friends at school, though there are some awesome people [like you guys!] who I met online in forums/pages about a common interest [like books!], or maybe people who I have something in common. But that doesn't really work every ...

I think your age is part of it. Wait until college or whatever you want to do between the ages 18-25 and more opportunities to make friends, both through organized events and daily school/work will come to you. Are you really having trouble finding other Japan-lovers? Because I feel like there coul...

I'm really fed up with my username since it clearly links to Japan, something in which I have very little interest now, and would like to change it. Is there any way I can do that, or am I stuck as Yayoi forever?
